1. Started by Jubaris,

a known thing about numbers and colors people assign to them was used by Mur as one of the MDA DNA Tests. During random randoming (as in my active work of thinking/working on random stuff), thought fell to me, why not ask which color would you assign to MD lands? Nothing serious, answer just for the sake of sacred randomness... My choice would be: Golemus - Orange (but visualizing the map of Golemus would have also, aside the major orange, mixture of yellow and red - as separate colors and its variations, not as combinations into orange ) Loreroot - Slightly Darker Green (visualizing the map would be the green Loreroot forests with gentle blue waters) Marind Be…

I like to study people, I don't mean that in a dodgy way, but I just like to understand how peoples minds work, and the relationship between answers is a fairly nice one. I'll give an arbitrary sum of 2SC (rounds the amount of silver i have to a nice amount) to whoever's answers I think are the "best"....or better....most honest (after period of week/whenever(I will answer myself then), people can still say things after that ofc). Try to keep answers less than 4/5 lines (for readability), but you can write as little as one word if you want, sometimes short answers hold more depth. Answers may be repeated, but originality is preferred. What is good? What is your best …

let me know what you think on this idea: Possible connection between beginning of the universe, chaos (greek mythology) and life: Random order means chaos, ordered randomness means life, life comes at the end of the cycle to counterbalance the beginning.

i won't have a computer until later tonight , sadly. ofc once its back i'll be in md..unless i jeed to reinstall windows ..that would be a "dezaster" ..but 90% chance is that i'll be back for the party after 22:00 server time. with surprises of course

I spent some time today playing around with Firesheep which was quite intresting. Basicly it hacks into your facebook account by looking at the data passed between your computer and facebook. It only works if you are on the same network and not using HTTPS but when i tested it at a local coffeshop i found a couple accounts of the people using the internet there. to see if you are protected look at the URL, If it says https://www.facebook.com/.... Then its already secured (https means its secured, it might also have a padlock), But if its only http://www.facebook.com/.... Then you are at risk to this type of att…

  8. Started by Malaikat Maut,

Valentines Day is coming up, so this seems seasonally appropriate. I've always believed that love is an action. This, of course, stands in stark contrast to the popular Western philosophy of subjectivism and modern culture on the whole. My belief is that "Love isn't in the falling, it's in the staying." Anyone can fall in love and then out of love. That's not what I'm talking about here. It seems to me that true love - unconditional and committed love - takes action and conscious decision. So, what do you believe? Is love an action? Do you choose to love and to remain committed, to work on and invest in the relationship lest it die? OR Is love a wh…

Libya is at war for many days now. A war against NATO and a civil war. This topic though is not to take sides or to talk about who is right and who is wrong. This is to take some time to think what is happening in that country and spare a moment of uncomfortable silence. For all the Libyan people who suffer and will suffer for decates to come. (The word "against" NATO is to indicate the official Libyan side, not to take sides. Sorry if it got interpreted this way, it was not my intention)

[i]If you didnt know by now, this weekend Japan was rocked by a 8.9/9.0 earthquake that was followed by a tsunami. Over 10,000 people have been reported dead, an entire fishing village has been reported missing, over 1.4 million households have gone without water since the quake and 1.9 million households without electricity. Recent news revealed that the 2nd nuclear reactor has just exploded. This whole scenario has left Japan in a rather helpless state, officials have called a state of emergency and have requested aid from other countries. I was wondering as an International community, could we join hands and donate a bit of money to the Japanes…

  12. According to some people, several mind power levels are 'broken'. More specifically, mp3 is under threat from alts that like to pwn noobs. mp4 suffers the same problem and mp5 is rumored to be broken because those crazy veterans that like to battle, cannot keep themselves from attacking younger players. Oh and also because newer players fear the mp5 level which is supposedly full of overpowered people. In my experience as mp3, which is years ago, there were already people planning to win heads at mp3 with their second account. These people would be virtually impossible to attack during heads contest and they would repeatedly collect. None of that really did much damage …

One of my yahoo email accs got hacked and the password and hint was changed. Normally I would just make a new one but this acc has sentimental reasons that I will only reveal in private to the person who is willing to help me. Please contact me directly, no need to post in this thread as I am seeking a personal favour. Thank you in advance.

Now that THe voting links have been expanded (YAy!) I noticed that the full list is now getting cut-off on hte page, so that a few links are hidden from me (both on Firefox and IE8). Since the links are randomized every time you click something, I periodically have to refresh the screen a few times to ensure I have not NOT voted on every available link. My suggestion would be, to keep the randomized order of the links, but split it into two random lists. Unclicked links would be on top, in random order, and anything you've already used for the day would be listed under them. This would allow us to more easily vote for MD and visit the partner sites, while still…

Since the Christmas Card Exchange was such a hit, I thought I'd try something new. A recipe swap. The only drawback is the Metric System thing....Anyway, here's my recipe for Cream Puff Cake...Yummy! 1 cup water 1 stick butter or margarine 1 cup flour 4 eggs Place water and butter over low heat until butter melts. Remove from heat and stir in flour until smooth. Add eggs one at a time using electric mixer. Spread in greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 -40 minutes. Allow the crust to cool. Filling: 2 pkgs instant vanilla pudding (can be regular or sugar free) 3 cups milk 4 oz softened cream cheese 8 oz cool whip Mix pudding and milk f…

  18. Started by Yoshi,

So as far back as I remember I wanted to own an ocarina, so the other day I pre-ordered one. I didn't want to spend a lot on something I might get bored with so I decided to pick this one: http://www.songbirdocarina.com/plastic-ocarinas?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=103&category_id=32 I'm now curious as to if anyone here has an ocarina, which exactly they have, and if they did or are learning about playing one. When deciding on the one I wanted first, my friend suggested the Ocarina of Time: http://www.songbirdocarina.com/zelda-ocarinas?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=34&category_id=13 B…

Combining bits and pieces from Gödel, Heisenberg and various philosophers like Berkley and Plato... we're quite certain that science will never hold all the answers. On the other hand, the principles are able to negate eachother and themselves and thus aren't quite an answer either. Plus the current list isn't exhaustive either... Personally I don't believe in democracy, but here's a poll anyway.

I would normaly not do that on a game forum, but it looks to me anything goes in here, so I will try. science becomes ridiculous when it finds a purpose in NOT discovering some things. Ca anyone share his opinion about the following word/s? "black light" Please avoid the UV , its called also black light even if its not at all black. I ask about the possible opposite of light as a concept Why does a pig ask that? I've found out I am a bio experiment, my parents are not PIGS as i thought they should be, but a vial and an electrick shock. My brain is oversized and thinks of such ridiculous things such as what balances light. I saw something interesting here, light, …

Yes. Artificial Zero. The topic comes from a dream that I had, and some information I had come across in my younger years. That information relates to Lucid Dreaming. Lucid Dreaming is where you can dream, be awake for that dream, and even maybe manipulate what happens while you're dreaming. The latter happening takes a lot of practice, and A LOT of training to become.. 'lucid' to speak. The information stated something of how to do so, but anyone can do it. You just need to be able to realize when you are dreaming. A lot of engineers like to use this method because while you dream, your entire subconscious is unlocked. Your imagination is no longer on hold, you ca…

I'm taking the liberty of splitting this from that thread which I'll quote a single post from below:
Actually it seems to be a sound research practice - scientific ethos is dead and high time to realize that :-P Scientific results to be valid should by possible to verify and reproduce. Otherwise the temptation (especially for students, but many researchers as well) could be too strong - and raw data home production would follow. For any serious paper with non-trivial results first thing one should carefully read are assumptions - and data collection methodology.
Neitzsche said God is dead and that we k…

Last year we did The Twelve Days of Christmas. SageWoman and I propose that this year we do "The Night Before Christmas" so we won't have to sing off key. But to make this interesting, let's put a lot of drama into this one and really make it a show to remember! Here are the words to help you: Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, In hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there. The children were nestled all snug in their beds, While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads. And ma…
