those spelling and grammar issues are all over the game, in time, people stop caring and start reading between the lines xD
-
well, you obviously shouldn't take the elixir more than once the bug here seems that the elixir was still displayed after you took it in the first place... how long did you wait between the clicks? and did you update in between? it normally disappears after you update your screen, or after some time... i clicked it 3 times when i first found it, too xD
-
have you tried refreshing? the heat counter takes like ages to be updated, i usually run about with 0 heat and then all of a sudden go up to 2500 about 50-90 secs after i took my first step... EI is not related to heat as far as i remember, your briskness will boost the heat you get and you lose it 1 per second, no matter what immunity you have

i think the great issue with university is simple: there are no teachers willing to do it... this game is full of most witty people from all over the world, who cover vast fields of education, jobs, religions, etc.etc. so whenever you want to teach something, it's either so deep in details that nobody will be able to follow and most won't be interested, or it's a very general lecture and most listeners will most probably know more about it than the teacher tells, and when he goes into deeper details for the ones who already know a lot of the matter, he will lose the interest of the rest, and BANG! chaos. for example, i could tell you all about the mating habits of the european swamp-fly (i couldn't, and i have no idea whether that creature exists, it's an example ), but nobody would be interested, or i could tell you about flies in general, and some insect-nerd who listens would then start an experts-dialogue with me and all the rest would get lost on the way... it's very very hard to find a topic of general interest, and have a crowd listening to you with totally different knowledge about that matter, and all that in a lanuage which is neither the teachers nor the scholars native tongue... it can only turn out to be a mess imo... that's why lots of people offer private help on the game and lots of people get engaged into highly philosophical, political or scientific discussions by mere accident somewhere, and nobody holds a prepared lecture on things with the intention of catching masses... it just workd better that way

no-armor is a spell which nihilates the effects of armors for a limited time, and now it pays to have that spell and, you need to see more than just your own case, Sharpwind... up to now, the mp5 could give their alts sun-god and medusa in an instant and create mp3 gods with 200 extra def, now the armors are totally balanced and only make you a just a tiny bit better while you are still weak, and make a damn lot of difference on high levels if it had been that way all along, you wouldn't ever have proposed to change the armors, because in that way, they pay more from 100 (EDIT: ok, since he tweaked sun god down a bit, it's about 200-220 def, but still round 130-150 atk, medusas seems almost unchanged... could only see a major difference in one item) onward, which is easy to reach anyway, and not only on lowlowlow stat-levels... mp3 is not the world
-
indeed... i like the armors now, before the change it was really easy to create god-modding mp3 with giving them the medusa- or sun-god-set (which is really easy), now they'll at least have to work for their stats =P the armors were overpowered for mp3 and underpowered for mp5, now they are balanced, the better you are, the more you can gain from armors... and no-armor finally makes sense i understand that stat-wise weak players are annoyed now because they got a lot of boni taken from them all of a sudden, but it's a lot fairer now imo ^^

seems like all the people want ANY ally, nobody isinterested in the purpose anymore... how about a nice little war, so people an choose sides and stick with them? like...uhm... GG, MRs and NS vs. GotR, CoE and KoB? i have no idea why those parties would work together, though, any ideas?
-
it's easy: whenever combat gets important, all combat-related spells are switched off whenever you are stuck in grey every-day business, you can cast any spells you want
-
i guess dream mutation is worth at least 2 rusties, you can't buy WP after all XD dream mutations are limited to players bright enough to have sooooo many WP they can actually afford to waste two of them on a weaker version of joker without any colors, while anyone with 50 bucks can get a rusty LOL

Is Md Too Exclusive To Entice A Larger Player Base Than Hard Cores?
Burns replied to Harion's topic in General Forum
do you think this game is THAT linear, Harion? that it's about finding all the stuff that hidden and getting all 'the goodies'? you don't need those to advance, you don't need them for your role-play, you don't need them to show off with, what are they good for? there is no goal, there is no high-score, there is no 'end of game' you can reach... and personally, i don't see where hardcoded ladder-quests would take the game to, now it's neverending, but what happens if you are on top of the ladder-thingie? 'Congrats, you beat the game and wasted 267 days of your life!'? or do you then go on with the RPC-quests until you beat them all? i can not yet see the value of such ladders, nor of opening certain lands only to certain people... that's even more elitism than the RPC-quests imo :/ -
because the forums would be severly overflowed within a day if we decided that all newbie-questions go to the forum... imagine that: veterans stop giivng hints in chat, because it's already there on the forums, and just give the link, how are the newbies supposed to ask ack to get more information? or if they don't get what we say because they lack english-skills? if they all open up a new thread for their old questions, we'll be severly pissed off after a week, and then the threads will be closed, or simply redirected to the topic where the questions have already been answered... and once the mods do that, the 'normal player-base' will start disliking the mods for doing their job, which is keeping the forum clear and easy to follow instead of the jungle of 20 threads per question which would inevitably come up -.- so, no, on this occassion, Guy is right, whatever you want to know, ask in-game and get live help for the current problem, and don't spam the forums with it...
-
seems like a very murry thing to do... stumbling across exceptionally bad roleplay, he makes her wish come true XD as the old folks always told you... be careful with your wishes, they might be heard... it seems as though it's not a bug, but we can't tell for sure... could someone try a summon or a throw to GoE spell on her to see what happens? it should most probably not work on 'killed by Magic'-corpses, but i think it worked on normal torch corpses during the test...
-
i consider it a decision... no matter whom you are fighting, even the strongest palyers can come and play without tokens, specially when they know that a lot of mirrors are around which would have chances to take their tokens and use them against themselves, so no, i don't think it's a problem that a mirror will get a target for sure (i wouldn't even consider it a problem if it targeted 100% sure, they are pretty useless when they miss...) o think the elite should be capable of setting strategies that outwit the mirror, instead of hoping for luck XD another issue that just jumped to my mind: when you say mirror copy all stats from the opponent, are my invested stats for nought on a mirror? or will those get added to the copied stats?
-
those are creatures form the MD-Shop, bought with credits
-
so, fi you are stronger than your opponent, it would be useless to set the gem on this currently only level, but if you know you are the weaker combattant, you can use it and make the opponent lose VE for killing your crits, and evne revive your own in the process? seems like a nice new ability... but i want to see higher levels of the crit before deciding, that one has insane potential to be WAY overpowered...
-
off-topic: why do they all steal my ideas?! =P on-topic: ahh, now i get the aura, thanks^^ i think the last level is a bit underpowered, though... give it either a tiny bit more attack, like 120-140, or a 4th hit imo...

Gg Critter A.b.a.r. Now With Poll!
Burns replied to Guybrush Threepwood's topic in Creatures of the Island
So, is there any way with defense it could do more damage? Attack=200 Twin strikes does (20-defense)*2. Regular would be 200-defense. 200-defense=40-2*defense I'm really no good at telling what is and isn't a spoiler, but since it's in the archives we'll just go ahead and say twins strikes is equal to a regular strike in over all damage if. -160=3*defense ?!? i thought you were good at maths... So, if the enemy's defense is less than -53.333 twin strikes is better. Lower the attack higher the defense can be and still make it even, higher the attack the lower the defense needs to be in order to break even. The higher your critters attack is though, the higher the weaken power is likely to be on any weakener. It's high initiative is actually a hindrance in this case.
unfortunately, that's bs, guy... if you want to do some maths, please avoid such mistakes, and then argue with them... (20 + atk)*2 - def = sluggish dmg, every second round 20 + atk - def = normal dmg (20 + atk)/10 - def = one twin strike, if i understood that right regardless of twin-strike, we can easily tell that sluggish gets more attractive the higher your atk-stat goes, as that one gets doubled up, and that the insane init makes sure that abar goes first in first round, therefore we can say that wheneever you can make sure it survives round 0, sluggish is the better option. so, what we want to know is, when is a twin strike equal half of the normal damage? (20 + atk - def)/2 = (200 + atk)/10 - def [*10] 100 + 5atk - 5def = 20 + atk - 10def [- atk, + 5def, -20] 80 + 4atk = - 5def this could be achieved by either neg atk or neg def, let's consider neg atk as impossible, though it's not unrealistic on early stages, so all left is assuming atk a positive value... we'll try and see what happens with 0 atk (uninfluenced) first 80 = -5def def = -16 in an uninfluenced fight, twin strike is better from the moment -16 def onwards, which is quite normal for an uninfluenced fight... [checking back shows: 20+0--16=36, (20+0)/10--16=18] now we'll insert x for def: 80 + 4atk = - 5x [/-5] -16 - 0.8atk = x now, let's check a few examples: example: i got 3000 atk, used in a 6 crit means 500 atk per critter -16 - 0.8*500= -416 i'd have to weaken my opponent with one hit before twin is better example: mp5-newbie has 180 atk -> 30 -16 - 0.8*30= -40 => mp5-newbie needs about one weaken before twin strike pays example: dst has 6000 atk (no idea if that's correct, it's just nice to devide) -> 1000 -16- 0.8*1000= -816 => dst wouldn't even need a full weaken to do better damage than normally conclusion: the higher your attack gets, the more attractive twin-strike is, compared to normal damage (which this creature lacks anyway) and this is why i dislike the creature, both its options are ultra-strong for high-end players and next to useless for 95% of all players... not even considering what high-end tokens would do along with twin-strikes! however, i like that it encourages a bit of strategy, because to make it work at its best, you want to make it survive til it can strike with sluggish PS: yeah, i'm sorry that i always need a wagon-load of numbers to explain things... EDIT: changed basic attack to 20, but that doesn't change anything on the fact that i'm right... i hardly ever am not when it comes to numb3rs and my def*10 comes from the fact that i hate deviding in formulas and avoid it whenever possible, you can trace everything i did to the formulas in [], and we come to the same conclusion after all xD -
thsoe are the requirement shadow set for gettign either spell doc or WP, and obviously nobody managed to get the spell-reqs done, and only ledah and Marvolo unlocked the WP, that's how i read that... now i want to know which part ledah and marv managed, i guess it's the 20 QP xD
-
it's a little disappointing that we didn't get the chance to do anything really, it was _all_ depending on luck, 'cept for that one question... but i guess it was fairer that way, and i still like it =)
-
*pokepoke* is the Dojo-idea dead now? since Calyx and Jaz have left it to itself, it stopped running that smoothly, but still went on... but these days i can't see a single LHO, let alone staff in the dojo whenever i pass by... so: is MDP a normal combat-place again, or are you just lacking active staff? no matter which, something has to be done, and if it's just deleting dojo-information from the sign-post xD
-
they are totally overpowered, but i guess Mur didn't see that coming... seems he had no idea what principle-values we could achieve :/ i think they need to be balanced amongst themselves... you can't really win against a token rit when you are not using tokens yourself anyway, just like you can't win against a bunch of rusties without having a rusty or two yourself... so, imo, tokens would need to give not onyl insane attacks, but also insane defences to balance that, like one otken already does... and they need to be more balanced, right now, there is one token which makes any creature absolutely invincible, even to other tokens, and that can definitely not be the intention... (no, it's not the goddamn claw 3, that token is only good for init...)
-
i'm missing an outline about the crits VE... but it looks good now, the old one was insanely overpowered XD would you care to elaborate on teh lone entity? i think i fail to understand that... will it kill itself when there are no other creatures in your rit? if so, how does the second sentence fit in?
-
combo is not an exploit, but it's not what this contest is about with combo allowed, the old players would still finish off any, even very good strategy, by merely surviving it real exploits look different... very different...
-
*applauds* great idea, V ^^ would it also copy enemies auras? meaning, grab their freezes and anti-freezes for itself? however, i don't see how this creature would cause troubles when used more than once per rit... if you try fighting mirror vs mirror, nothing happens in general, and i think it should be part of the strategic decision whether you want to use one or more of them... i'd also suggest that one creature can not be mirrored more than once in a fight, if you allow more than one of them per rit apart from that, i think that the maxed mirror should have much less VE, it's already very strong with its first-strike ability, no matter what it mirrors, so i think it should by default not get a second round to hit... overall, i agree with the idea of stealing the creatures of extremely strong people, but if that is what you want it to be, it can't be an RPC reward or have limited access by insane VE or VP requirements, else they will be reserved for the people who are their potential targets... and hand in hand with that, nice age requirements for max (100 at least), so people will actually know how they want to use the malvolent mirror... til then, anything would be worthy of stealing, like eles with good power-stats and such, but the last mirror is lethal to hardcore fighters and almost useless against anyone else, as you can't build a strategy around this crit... you don't know if you'll get a stealer, a damager, a weakener, or even a tree...
-
@ granos: sadly enough, singles are desperately undervalued currently, and i'd hope that people would use them again and stop to use their brains about init, too, to set a rit that does the right things in the right order (eg. first life steal, then weaken, then attack) instead of relying on freezers and chaos archers... and i didn't know taht i was allowed to bring up all values for the creatures, i thought we were just giving outlines of our ideas so Mur could consider them XD i'll work on that, so you have some more things to critize =P @ guy: that's the idea of it, yep and thanks for the all-targeting-aura hint, they shouldn't be able to absorb those, i'll edit that^^
