1. well, since rain is global, so should fire be (yea, herbs in all scenes could go to zero, why not) edit: it could be land-based...but it doesn't sound as good. (rain is not global? by global I don't mean all scenes, but those with water)
2. zany idea (for the record, I don't think depletion is bad, all my idea says is 'let's make whatever happens now more interesting'):
since there is rain for replenishing water, why not have fire to help herbs grow? I bet some would be happy if suddenly timezone didn't matter since new herbs appeared, unscheduled. why fire? well, after a fire, plants grow faster, there is a renewal of the land. A firespell would either lower the herbs to a percentage of their current quantity or of the max quantity or even to zero (EDIT: and increase the regen rate of herbs by a percentage - from 25 to 50%, maybe) This could be system-triggered or player-triggered. A player could use the spell when the herbs are at 0 and therefore making more herbs grow, for everybody's benefit, or when he/she wants to prevent someone from depleting, by...depleting. haven't thought about the drawbacks, there must be some.
3. After long labor, with tens of ideas crashing into each other, my submission will probably appear to be like those aramor ships on the beach of Golemus... anyway, here it is http://storenow.net/my/?f=76fcfa2a1457caef7b4066d90344b51e
4. I read the ones available in the MDA long time ago and I have to say I found them very well done. I would like to see others made,if possible, with the same quality.
5. I would also like that the device gets a use :)
6. That's good enough for me, thanks :)
7. Rookies, yay! Nice application, we'd love to see you in Marind Bell. The question that always comes to my mind is...why Marind Bell and not another land?
8. methinks you are not allowed to post the effects of tokens, just the name will suffice

I look at things with the indifference I once detested... I lay in the armchair as in the hands of some god... but no, I am not...why should I... be broken? The voices of birds and the voices of dogs all echo the same - you really cannot expect much from life. I attach myself to things with the loyalty of an old dog, with the determination of the one who doesn't want to die, but doesn't know how to live. Tomorrow is another day, and I will stare at the horizon still... Today I need to save my breath and put you to work... There is no salvation, never was - just some sort of delight.

I walked into the city of light now adorned with the dreams of the night as I walked, the streets decayed and paved roads glittered with guilt. The old tower was falling as I climbed the steps of a church or maybe a tainted temple of old. And the birds spoke of roasted hearts or from roasting hearts or from trees. Then a storm rose and a great tidal wave made us all little fish in an ocean. And I found an old armor and I found an old lance and I rose to the surface, encumbered. Lest I was in Asgard, I dreamt dreamt of birds flying the skies among spears of light who cried human. There I saw two suns warming the sea below and I was blinded as I understood the light... I was awaken by a knight, patrolling the streets "Sir, you alright?" And the edited version: I walked into the city of light Adorned with the dreams of the night And I stepped on the marble, decayed, And under my guilt it would break. But I moved on, not stopping until I reached, at the base of a hill, the cellar of a temple of old or of a shop, filled with cursed gold. One-eyed ravens, from trees, sang of death and of heroes burnt by wyrms' breath And I took an old armor and shield And a sword with runes on the hilt. But when I tried to handle the gold It was turned into greenish mold Then a wind rose and I heard some cries Ripping the earth, tearing the skies. Water poured through the cracks of the world, From eggshell I made a stronghold And I stood hidden, my knees to chest Until all was immersed, I rest. Then I broke free from my agèd egg And put reins on a seahorse stag And swam to the light that I would see, Through water blue, all above me. No sooner I had reached the upper veil I heard a shriek that gave me chills And a bird grabbed me, its talons sharp, I struggled like freshly-caught carp. But in vain, for the bird took me high To the twin suns shining in sky. Will the bird kill me? Or will the heat?... I woke up to the sounds of the street.
12. My point was more like EE dropping was becoming the norm (as his mood panel posts), which I found to be just sad (so, robbed, deprived etc are not right words, because you cannot steal something that does not exist). Regardless of Wittys motives, her intentions caused the right havoc, in my opinion. I say this after seeing what happened, obviously - on our private forum I told her this is hard, if not impossible :) I would not have liked the status quo of EE posting in mood panel every day. I think he deserves to be MP6 more than WItty...for now, at least, but not like this. (even if he was dropping because of some less active or just lazy people)
13. When Witty announced her intention, EE had already dropped (and he kept dropping through the last months). Well, he would have got back (and down again and then back again), but robbing is not the right word...if anything, it started a needed discussion.
14. You don't like that? Then how about gladiators? Wanna see you in the pit ^^ Edit: more on topic - some tests with complete removal of freezes (or allowing only one bird) can be made. Freezes are half of the problem here.
15.
That last line made me think of MD Olympics. You'd hold an internal tournament and then send the best fighter from the land to the Olympics. As was sometimes done in the past, to avoid large-scale wars.
I would fill in just to increase fighters quota and maybe have a little fun. As for rules for it to be unpredictable, I wouldn't know, but I think that maybe creating a guard (with tokened/premium crits), whom you'd have to fight first to actually get in the competition (getting one or two tries), would be quite unpredictable :)

17. To have a dream in MD - I see it as an adventure. For this purpose, I created a ritual in which I summoned the Dreamweaver. Ritual started on day 165, year 10 and continued for the next two days. All the items used were in my possession at the time of the ritual. Day 1: storenow.net/my/?f=9b7a88638ddab5d2294a963725b15325 storenow.net/my/?f=af83e4bcd08ae8d73151ef78c9ac3d6d Day 2: storenow.net/my/?f=2e27a3af321b6ee934345bc55ada1c9a storenow.net/my/?f=2bf959a32c8f3f6cd09d45d42c7d8ded Day 3: storenow.net/my/?f=bdac086c94edf2acd913a595034cb5c1 storenow.net/my/?f=3fd12a9d53aae97bcbafd1dc31cff2db The 'log' of the ritual:
*arrives at Whisper Alley. The wind whispers through the leaves, a chill breeze goes through the trees. It is close to midnight.* *prepares himself for the ritual. It is time to summon the creature known as Dreamweaver. He will surely come. He _must_come!* *takes out a small glass-like jar, glowing faintly. He opens it and a strange light pours out.* *chants "Vinci hominus erolin, homo vinci...". The light expands and covers Ungod, like a golden dust. He then takes out a Barren Soul totem and places it on the ground.* *, with a careful gesture, places a small heat stone on the totem and watches it melt. "Exorior, miles militis!". A Barren Soul rises; he is now Ungod's guide and companion.* *begins the chant.* Dreamweaver, I summon thee! Leave thy shelter, come to me, Come forth, Dreamweaver, in night Bring me visions of the Light! *speaks louder and louder. The Barren Soul reverberates the chant, over and over again, like the ripple caused by a drop of water in a bottomless pool.* *starts walking slowly, uttering the chant. The Barren Soul follows close-by. Soon, his chanting cannot be heard anymore - only strange whispers.* *arrives at Marind's Marble Stairs. The stairs await.* *is weakened and his energy is low. Why hasn't the Dreamweaver answered? Was the ritual too weak? Was his voice unheard?* *rests for some moments. The light is faint around the Barren Soul. "He is no use to me anymore."* *opens another glass-like jar and starts chanting. Again, light pours out. Then, he takes some timeless dust and blows it over in the direction of the Barren Soul."Abeo quies quietis!"* *looks intently at how the Barren Soul twirls and dissapears with a shriek in the wind. He then grabs the totem fallen on the ground and hides it.* *takes out another totem and places it on the ground. Then, he places a heat stone on the totem. "Exorior, miles militis!" An Imperial Aramor rises; he is now Ungod's bodyguard and companion.* *has injected eyes. He needs protection now, above all. The Aramor shall serve well. And the incantation must be repeated. A hurdle, nothing more. Nothing more...* *begins the chant.* Once again, I summon you, Hear my pledge, my wish is true, Come forth, weave the dream of dreams, Shake the world out of its rims! *starts to climb the marble stairs, chanting louder and louder. The Imperial Aramor follows close-by, keeping watch on everything."* *arrives at Marind's Roundabout. The stairs took the best out of him and got him kneeling. Why hasn't the Dreamweaver answered?* *looks at the water sparkling in the sun. He lowers his head and washes his face with the pure water of the fountain.* *regains strength - not the strength of body, but of mind - and rises. "It is time."* *lets a drop of his own blood fall on the marble tile.* *throws down a heat stone. A short chant makes the blood alive - it sticks to the shattered stone like a slime, grabbing all the pieces and arranging them, forming a pulsating heart with red laylines.* *grabs the pulsating heat stone and looks at the Imperial Aramor. He has done well.* *sprinkles timeless dust on the Aramor's weapon. "Abeo quies quietis!"The Aramor lowers his weapon and jams, then withdraws from reality.* *takes out a Bird totem and places it on the ground. Then, a simple heat stone is put on it. "Exorior, miles militis!" The Winderwild hovers around Ungod, then lands on the fish.* *approaches the majestic Winderwild and places the blood-stained heat stone in its beak. "Rise, and be my signal!"* *begins the chant, ever so loud.* See my agent in the skies, Dreamweaver, and hear my cries! Come and show me of the Light The visions I seek, in night! *awaits in deafening silence.*
P.S. The Dreamweaver can be summoned in many a ways (=rituals), depending on who you are. (edit: damn, I messed up the links. will re-do them later)

We live our lives following a number of ways, believing a number of ideas, collecting bits and dust to create our selves. Many times we think about the past or the future, acknowledging Time. There are people (to whom I refer as 'stupid') who live only in the present. They think very little of the future (usually, that's in the line of 'tomorrow or the day after tomorrow I will...') and memories are so faint that a breeze of present will shuffle them and send them away. Not everyone needs a timeline, though - like some tribes in the Amazon. Maybe some inventions can be made, but..do they really need them? Or the aboriginals in Australia - brits found them roaming the land, with no need for a hut of some sort. I like to think of such people as 'incapsulated in the present'. Why need a timeline, when there is the 'now', so strong and compelling and...demanding...? Then, there are people who worry about the future. So much they worry, that they forget the present. They basically live in the past, because...well, they can't live in the future :) and then any present moment goes without notice and becomes past so fast... Time is pressure, time means deadlines that must be met, alarms that must be heard, things to do at precise moments. Time, speed...'now' is still demanding, but they do things for the future, that future that will be lived peacefully, beautiful, unlike...wait, now!... All that is a prelude to me proposing a new skill, lol...the clairvoyance skill. I do not believe in fortune-telling, but I know that looking into the past, researching history and learning about people can make you predict some events with 100% accuracy. It's a skill that you acquire just by living and observing enough (irl and, why not, in-game). I like to think of fortune-tellers as just wise(r) people. The following is a raw image of how I see this skill working. I think the requirements for this skill should be activity days (say, 120). Once 'old' enough, at Fortune's Well there should be available a clickie (or maybe a puzzle of some sort - an easy one) that will let you acquire the new skill. As for how it would be gained, I don't have a concrete suggestion, but here are some thoughts. Clairvoyance means gazing into the future. For those people living in the present, it is an impossible feat and maybe even a useless one. But I think it is wrong to see a clairvoyant as someone searching only the future for answers. As explained above, a wise man searches the past and lives in the present to make accurate predictions. So, even if clairvoyance is all about the future and the answers it might hold, the key is not there. The key are memories and current events/actions. Therefore, to gain points in clairvoyance you'd need to convert memories with current actions. What are those memories/that past? Every (rather) big change in MD should count as a memory. All players that were active at that time should (well, if they want to) activate it (somehow) and convert it into a 'memory' (don't ask me exactly how, I might get ideas of how to do it in a couple of days - or not). What is the present? Every thing that you do - the things you write in chat, the walks you do in the scenes, the spells you cast, the creatures you recruit. This is the 'now' you live - which will be forgotten unless it's rather big and it stays in your memory. So, somehow (again, I haven't thought of the details, might be a lot to code, idk) your activity would be giving you points in the 'now'. With enough points in the 'now' (big number), you can convert the 'memories' into 'glimpses of future', which count as 0.1 clairvoyance skill (or more). As a use for this, I won't indicate a specific one; I believe there could be lots of them (for example - yes, I'm indicating one! - a 'Seer' title which could be automatically gained if you have ..50 skillpoints). I hope this is at least a good read, if not a valid idea.
19. creature wins might be important - Increase the defence of the creature by one for each won fight it has (token) (or maybe not)
20. it says there that he asked to be kicked out when he was dealt with. funny :)) it didnt happen in time i wonder if he knew what he was doing when he invited Pip

I was thinking of commissioning an avatar and I wanted it to incorporate some elements such as the MB crest. However, I haven't seen such an avatar, so I was wondering if there is some kind of rule prohibiting the usage of crests, details from scenes or creatures, in avatars. Is there such a rule?
