[/quote] Giving someone something useful and then taking it away from them is the simplest psychological method of warfare to make people feel disheartened and leave. Allowing them to achieve that thing again by working for it again after they already had it makes no odds. Retrospectively downgrading creatures will have this effect. In addition, wihout high VE in place the theory of "any player can beat any player" still stands as far as I know. With what you just said here, not only are you suggesting a change to the entire MP levelling system, but also now a change to the WP and shop system. It also won't change the fact that the suggested implimentation will not help keep new people....unless...unless you are telling me that you have evidencial proof from new players that they leave because at lower levels they are being attacked constantly by insane rits they don't feel they have a hope of hell in beating and that they can never beat anyone else at their level...no wait...isn't that is what is being said constantly about MP5? I thought the point was to try to change the system to help new players. [/quote] Having maxed creatures like angiens does help beat other players like MP5s who have maxed power creatures, so in that sense it does help. In addition the mp3/4s arn't all saying they are staying at lower levels in order to be capable of beating the MP5s. A number of them are saying they are staying there because there is just no point in going MP5 at all due to current MP5 attitudes and actions. These "illusions" you speak of are the voices of those that are supposedly trying to be aided. So listen and work with them. Even I think they are right, I've done testing on it and I have come to the conclusion that they are correct - but I'm not foolish enough to think that I really understand fully because no matter how much testing I do, I the player am a vet of the game and they are not. As much as the MP5s complain about the "abuse" of the lower MP levels, the lower MP levels are complaining about MP5 "abuse" of their over-powered accounts and further, their lack of general awareness and manners. They just arn't as loud about it because certain Mp5s keep telling them to shut up and deal with it. I have always found MP5 on the whole to be very "my drach is bigger then yours". Amazingly, MP5 then complain about people staying super powered at lower MP levels. Personally, I find the whole thing very ironic. If you make everyone MP5 or force MP5 upon people in order for them to be able to play properly, you don't actually change the issue causing upset. Over-powered accounts upsetting newer players still exists as a problem - and by restricting what they are left with when they have to go MP5 it is actually made worse not better. What you will have actually done is removed a way of abusing alts and increased the MP5 population. Removing the way of abusing alts is irrelivant because the purpose of doing it still exists even after you have done it unless you want to do it just for and of itself. That leaves increasing the MP5 population. Is that what this is about then? People will still be upset and either leave or kill off all their crits, that doesn't help anyone. Like kaf says, lets just make everyone MP5! That'll solve it! no wait...wait...no it won't. What we need, imo, is an attitude change. If you over-farm your land, it gets barren, you're guna have to bite the bullet and let it fallow. Z

Clearly, passing aged crits onto your low level alts is an abuse, you arn't supposed to trade crits between alts - there is even a built in function to stop it that you have to go around. Don't kid a kidder. If this is the problem then why isnt this being looked into instead of trying to change the entire system? Z

The resultant was that they do not know what happened and that others have tools to harvest which are outside the guild. The woodcutters are the guild and only group that could be considered charged with governing wood collection and tree cutting within the realm and are therefore those to be held accountable for offering an explanation. In the absence of said explanation the Guardians of Bob have found: - No trade log record of anyone enacting this harvesting - A database management activity was in process at the time of the incident - The single lumber has regenerated despite a 50% regeneration rule. Well...thank you Mur for totally derailing the point of the thread Don't get me wrong, the haze is great...but...it isn't practical, and it's one thing to like to stream dream as I like to call it but it's quite another when you literally cannot open your eyes or walk. It's like being very very drunk in the middle of a snow storm in the dark with someone with a torch shining it directly into your face, that's how my mornings are...putting orange juice into cereal, seeing walls bend, washing your hands in after shave...yup... Technique for getting to sleep - do not go to bed with the intention of sleeping. Go to bed with the intention of inactively thinking. That is, you do not focus and pin things down, analyse and disect as one might usually when they think, but rather you literally allow your thoughts to come and go and you allow yourself to think about them inactively. You do not try to stop yourself thinking about anything. Thinking about what you are thinking, passing mental comment about how stupid the technique is etc, they are all allowed. Let it all happen. Make sure you breathe well. You will be doing the equivalent of allowing ripples in a pool to tire themselves out instead of splashing about and causing more. Eventually, if you practise this technique, you will achieve a state of half sleep and if you are lucky actual sleep. Main issue with this is if you conjure up things that are unpleasant...but that's a different matter entirely. Causing yourself not to sleep on the other hand -refusing to go to bed until you actually feel exhausted and the physical need to go to bed, can be another issue. I used to do sit ups for that one, but that doesn't work for most people. For most people it does the opposite. If you can reach a point where inactive thinking becomes an pleasurable actual activity for you, then that'll work because you will be 'doing' something. Z

Aysun - Your post is important because it is a viewpoint I have heard...quite possibly...more than any other viewpoint, in all of MD. It is important because it demonstrates the gap that causes frustration for a lot of people. Keep pushing for more automation and you are just pushing for walls to be built, walls you won't know will exist because you won't even consider there is something for a wall to be there for anymore. First - yes, someone has to hit the button, but do you really think whoever is charged with that would be a biased party to the degree you are suggesting? If someone really believes there is no hope, then they are right, for them there wont be any. Think about when things have happened in MD. Consider how and why they happened, what activated the moment of fully realised conception? Try to put aside what you hear, or what you think you know, and just think about that, think about what you see not what you hear, not assumptions, not links, literally what you witnessed. I'll give you an example, how did we get Bob healed recently? Someone might have said, oh, it's Z, so he must have organised it with a higher power. Yet that is an assumption, and I will tell you now, it's wrong. So consider what actually happened. Build your winning potion from elements of success. Have some keys I've handed out before at various times that keep getting burried, a secret hidden in audible noise if you like. If it were me leading the rebellion, I would not be doing things behind curtains and in the shadows. I might do that for a while, but it would be for a very specific purpose that would lead to... A rebellion is a side of a see-saw, you need to tip the balance in your favour. The only way to do this is with weight. What adds weight and how would you achieve that in an obvious and visible way? How would you build enough energy to cause an explosion? It isn't about one man running into a field and knocking down a castle, nor is it about five men doing it, you need an army to do that for it to have any impact. It also isn't about seemingly cleverly concocted plans with devious storylines. You don't actually need to know the percentages and the ratios if you understand what I've been saying properly. It isn't easy either, because you need to have a constant. Remember, a rebellion is another word for war, and keep in mind to consider all people, this is a small world, any corner of it is everyone's corner. This will probably just fall on deaf ears again, or be used for a moment, maligned and tossed in the bin, but I say it for that tiny tiny cricket that listens and realises something they once knew and maybe didn't even know they knew, then somehow forgot. As my Dad says, go move the world. Z

You shouldn't be relying on anyone else anyway, there is no "must" rely on. There are lots of things the rebels can do if they want to, but they dont. For a rebellion, its incredibly quiet and well behaved. It is the least rebellious rebellion I have ever seen. You don't actually need anyone to do something special in order to advance the cause, because if you as rebels do what you should be doing to fulfil the title of rebel then things will happen as a result of that anyway. If rebels feel stifled from a lack of activity, it is their own - and you might want to have a think about what human element might mean, because it doesn't mean what you are talking about there. This idea has come up, it appears, as an opposite to balance Tranquility days. On a roleplay level, T-days are the mechanical function of night which is the opposition to standard fighting days which are the mechanical function of Day. Kafuuka has already said this. On a more base level, non T-days are not the opposite to T-days due to the percentages involved. On a heads day anyone can be attacked in a sanctuary once they have 7+ heads, what is the opposite to this? there isn't one. On standard days you can fight everywhere except a few locations and there are far more standard days than sanctuary days. A more accurate opposite would be to have few locations you could fight as opposed to none - but that isn't the argment or request here. This seems far more an excuse for vet MP5s who want to grind than anything else. Z

The verb part doesn't even come from these words themselves linguistically. If a single word cannot be used to communicate a universal meaning then a conglomerate of single words can't either, it just makes the situation worse instead of better. The fact that despite the amount of words I used to explain the words I was using still ended with two people commenting on verbs should at least [u]partially[/u] demonstrate that. Things can indeed be defined by language but not to an extent which is totally devoid of interpretation. Language itself is an experience for one thing. How can you say the earth is and has always been spherical when we know this from scientific methods which are based on experience which we have agreed (as far as I can tell, I could be wrong?) is a flawed method? Years ago you would have ended that sentance with the word flat. The scientific method being fallible cannot necessarily be counted as evidence against objective reality, but in the same vein it also cannot be counted as evidence for it. Our experience may indeed have no bearing on something's objectivity, but then how to know it is objective? There is a 'something' that causes an experience. A majority of people call this experience Red. Despite any divergance from this majority experience, the something remains as it is. You can see it as Red, I can see it as Green, but it is as it is regardless - I take this as your argument. Agree or disagree with that point, it is a different debate though, not one about language. What is language based on is a subject I touched on in the first post I made here - it's an important one. Z
