3.
IMO, being not around anymore is not a sign of good/bad leadership. People can do a good job and leave because of RL issue, or it's just a time for them to go on.
Hmm... that's a good point. There are some people who are just plain abismal at doing jobs appointed to them. An example that I know well... the calendar project has passed through at least 6 other people's hands, none of whom have done anything for it. But I suppose that isn't leadership, persay. Awi
4.
Was Making a point. There are very few absolutes and barely any of this has anything to do with Alliances.
Then I suggest you make your point accurately, and without holes. Otherwise, who can agree with you, or take you seriously? And I think it does, actually. Alliances require leaders, and leaders as you so aptly stated depend a lot on how they are chosen, and cannot be judged purely on how good of a leader they are perceived. Awi
5.
We can not possibly judge who is capable and who is not. Sure some may appear to be, and others don't. But through out history those who appeared to be good leaders turned out not to be. And those who were forced into the role or fellupon it were the best.
That is a huge generalization that I don't necessarily agree with. I would recommend you soften your absolutes, because there is always an exception. Khalazdad, for example, was not forced, and is known as one of the best leaders. Tarquinus, likewise, worked hard for his position as leader, and I think we can agree he does it well. There are examples going against you in the opposite direction too. If you look far far back in the announcements, you will see that the first alliances were given to a number of people. I believe that will qualify as "forced into the role or fellupon." Where are the majority of those leaders and their alliances today? No where to be seen. Other people that were forced into roles: the early LHOs, a good portion of whom no longer play. In conclusion, watch your generalizations, because nothing is all black or all white. Awi
6. The fact remains that the two systems (fighting and roleplaying) will never been completely cohesive, because there is nothing physically bonding them together. Whether someone wants to roleplay that their character was injured when another attacks them in true combat is up to them. Because the person being attacked has free-reign of roleplay, they can ignore the combat result. In effect, an attacking person cannot god-mod that they killed anybody else. To a degree, I think that's a beautiful system. We are all working together so that the outcomes are generally agreeable to all. Would you want to be wounded truly after combat? Could you imagine the frustration if you could actually die? It wouldn't be a pleasant experience for anybody, with the exception of the person massacring (dst, you come to mind in respect to the person that would have the most fun). There are times when the two systems come together, and I think that when people can make them work together it adds a good deal of strength to their roleplay. It is a lot more respectable and appreciated when the two systems are used in conjunction. Will it ever be completely cohesive? Doubtful. Do I want it to be? Part of me says not at all. Awi
7. My take on roleplaying: I never say I have anything magic that I don't actually have in spells. Items and stuff, I fib sometimes, such as watering cans and seeds (although the first one eventually was created). I think it's very pointless to cast super magic spells and dance around like a lunatic. The point for me is not to be some super powerful character that I have seen be the hero in movies, but rather a normal person interacting with other normal people, with possible some amplification to mix it up once in a while. We can't all be the Hero of the story with the legendary magical abilities, because then we just have a mess. Awi
8. So I was just wondering what people were feeling about the Achievements. There are two questions I see rising here. 1. Do you want Achievements to show up in your paper list, or somewhere else? 2. Do you want Achievements to be viewable by everyone, or private? Awi
9. I think, Watcher, that she includes all things as part of the natural "life." If it exists, she likely will protect it, even if it is not natural in the classic sense of the word. I say kill them. I'm tired of werewolves peeing on my notes. Awi *joke* P.S. What? No abortions from Sage then? Ah, then who am I going to go to in order to get rid of my baby. */joke*
10. Not even close, Liberty. The only scenes Glor has drawn are the places that were added when Renavoid had a quest. Those places are: Right of the main entrance to MDA, Pample's Office, Cellar. Awi

I realize, but is it possible that we could post it next to the Day Count, so that people who don't read through all the announcements (or have forgotten, like me) would have a quick way of knowing? Awi
13. You start to know the artistic styles in MD. Valy - MDA, Loreroot, Golemus (not 100% positive, but fairly sure), Tribunal, South No Man's Land Boba - parts of Necrovion Angela - Marind Bell and parts of No Man's Land Glor - Parts of MDA. Awi

Oh good! That answers my question. Thank you Akasha. Would it be too hard to post what year we were in somewhere? Awi

How would we know, IAB? No one has reached it yet? Unless you do some coding and tricky magic. Awi
16. Drachorn Master -Maxed Rustogld, Windy Drach, and Golemus Drach Exploration Master -Visited All Lands (Necro, GG, Lore, Marind, MDA, Tribunal) Absolute Zero -Zero personal Vitality and all creatures dead. Teleportation Addict (Mostly for LHOs... but could work for GoE and some other spells out there) -Teleported 50 times. Leafed in Gold -Attain a Gold Avatar, and keep it for 2 months. Greedy Soul -Have 10 items, and at least 50 silver and 4 gold. Just some ideas. Awi
17. As one of the mods (Which.... I didn't know I was until just today. I have the spell for other more selfish reasons), I agree whole-heartedly. Wishpoints are fine for rewarding other spells, and I like how that works, but there should be a line. Awi

Okay, the other day I was thinking of when I planted my Maple seed, and I noticed that I really wish we had Magic Duel years to go along with our Days. I could use 2009, but I don't really want to. Is this Magic Duel Year 3? Year 4? It would be a great addition. Awi
22. That's just the issue: there aren't natives. Period. I can tell you that with absolute certainty. Just as no one occupied Marind Bell (No jack Willow, no raven, no nothing), there are no natives. Awi
23. Redneck, did you miss the part where Mur said, "NO HISTORY!"? I think he repeated it multiple times in multiple places. Digging up the history of an area is fruitless, because there is, in fact, no history. Rather, you need to make a history for that land, NOT by imagining it, but by doing it. For example: instead of saying, "The Pub at the Tribunal once held Jacko's Pub, built in 1800, and there were demons galore," create the pub, create the name, and go from there. The history doesn't exist. You're digging for nothing, and if you make it up and write it down, all you have in your hands is a pack of lies. Awi
24. Yes, it does work. Me and Chewett had a lot of fun (well, I had fun. Not sure if he did) figuring out how it would work. Furthermore, you can make the background transparent so it looks as if you're not using an iframe at all. The only issue we ran into was that the CSS that Magicduel automatically has is not applied to iframes, so we had to write it ourselves. If you have questions about that, message me. Awi
25. Chewett, today I heard Grido slept. That's a good enough reason to reset his reputation. Awi
