  1. Lecture in the US is usually one person talking. But I like your lecture better. Awi
  2. I myself am leaning more towards Spheres and Cubes, because it seems to play an integral part in the Realm, but I understand very little about how the geometry relates to the land, beyond the fact that MD was once a cube. Awi
  3. A while ago, Muratus del Mur made a lecture to all those willing to listen at the Howling Gates about the Transposition Principle which eventually morphed into a lecture on magic in general. He has stated on a number of occasions that he is willing do another lecture if there is enough interesting. So, I am putting it out to the general community. If we get enough yes's, I am sure Mur would be willing to give another lecture on one of the topics listed above, or on a topic of his choosing. Should Mur give another lecture? Awi
  4. *Awiiya* - 95773
  5. Or you can choose to strategically haunt your Alliance leader. What can I say, Pample attracts the dead. Awi
  6. Are you the only person that draws avatars? I was unaware. Awi
  7. But if you're in the dojo, shouldn't you be asking before you attack anyways? Awi
  8. I'll volunteer if I get free noobs to feed off of. Gotta have my daily nutrition! Oh, and I refuse to be the father of anything; creatiality is just not for me. Awi
  9. Oh that would be SO cool Chewett! It could be like they were playing through the memories of someone. Or the memories of the Realm, and then the Realm chooses who the player belongs to. That's a neat idea, I really like it. Except it would be endless work for whoever were to do it, because they'd have to keep adding Chapters as the game progresses. And also as a result, the new players would have to play through progressively lengthening Chapters. *laughs* That'd be a mess. Awi
  10. Forgive me, I meant to say "questioning the method of supporting Khalazdad" Is that more acceptable? Awi
  11. The reason I believe that you have another account is simple. Your first posts are about Khalazdad, and clearly you know something about him when you formed your arguments of why you should not support him, calling him for instance "Rajj." Despite this, I have never seen a Watcher in game and the watcher account that is already created has no creatures, wins, losses, armor, or anything. You have maintained a knowledgeable level of what goes on in-game, something that would be impossible by just viewing the forums. Therefore, I think you have another account which you use in game. Awi
  12. Actually, not true. If your Chapter 3 is under construction, you can still go to mp6. Awi
  13. By problem I mean conflict between members of Loreroot and members of the Realm in general. It is unarguable that there was a conflict that resulted from the reign of Raven, and that it was the first in a series of conflicts between members of Loreroot and the members of the Realm. I'm sorry if that was a confusion, I will change my wording. Awi
  14. That bit was killing two birds with both stones. Both accusations were declared, if I remember right. Someone can feel free to correct me on that though. I believe the argument for the first was that the elections in Loreroot affect the entire land, and therefore we should all be apart of it, and the argument for the second was simply that only a portion of the Loreroot members voted. Awi
  15. Here are some of my notes: The issue stems from a number of things 1. The ascension of Raven was the first indication of conflict in Loreroot, causing a forum battle and indications of battle, although Raven stepped down before these were realized. 2. Post Raven, there was elections and Amoran eventually became the leader. 3. Following Amoran's ascension there were a number of histories released on the forum which have now been declared ancient and obsolete by Mur, most likely in an attempt to stimulate the then inactive Loreroot forum 4. Akasha released a series of accusations (I refuse to decide or mark which are true or false) a. Loreroot's elections had been unfair, and non-inclusive b. Loreroot's history was obsolete and misleading c. There were various other accusations, mostly involving the legitimacy of Loreroot and its council. 5. The forum fight raged for a period, prevalently Akasha asking questions and Tarquinus responding, but GlorDamar, Udgard, and Amoran made remarks occasionally. 6. The histories were removed, CoE attempted to mend the situation with the forum (which was one of Akasha's accusations), and new elections were held. 7. Amoran left the GotR, and Firs declared himself the leader, without objection from the others. I believe that about sums it up Any questions? Awi (changed trouble for conflict)
  16. Nope, it means that Mur hasn't yet uploaded the Calendar for June. Rest assured, it is done. I completed it upwards of a month ago. Awi

Omegaweapon Omegaweapon was a secretive figure in the history of the realm, known most prominently for knowing the inner-workings of the realm, able to exploit secrets that few people knew of. Working with Big C, another knowledgeable warrior of the early realm, Omegaweapon was able to gain massive stats due to the fact that at that time there was no limit to the amount of heat one could accumulate. Due to this, Omegaweapon was able to achieve the highest stats and make others fear his brute strength rituals. Besides being a proficient warrior, he also helped the realm a considerable amount, finding exploits and reporting them to Muratus del Mur so that he could fix them, and make the game a more sound place. In the Golemus Wizard quest, Omegaweapon was sent by the Shades to kill the Big C, however the prayers of the players and Thanasia saved Big C, and as a result Omegaweapon thought it necessary to kill the Golemus Wizard in order to stay on their good side. He proceeded to kill the wizard, and as a result he allowed Wodin to be summoned into the world. He became known as a master assassin, able to kill silently and without remorse. He was to help defeat Wodin and prevent him from defeating the shades, however during the fight his personal demons overwhelmed him, and Omegaweapon succumbed to himself, disappearing most likely for good. No one has seen him since the Shade War, and he is assumed dead. --------- Once again, please give me comments, fixes, etc.
  18. If you really want to make sure that there is no incentive for alts, make the reward a creature that is non-transferable. So, it wouldn't even have a CTC, and therefore it couldn't be transferred to the main. The silver problem is inevitable, but 10 silver is not, in my opinion, enough to consider cheating. But I suppose people have cheated for significantly less, so I could be wrong. Kriskah contacted me, and I would be happy to be a judge in the contest, although I would not be willing to lead it. Awi
  19. A more biological version of what Cryxus was talking about, homeostasis, which is the maintenance of a certain pH, temperature, and concentration of molecules (sodium, potassium, calcium, etc.) for the maximum efficiency in the enzymic activities. That's biology. Taking that as kind of a frame, here is maybe an MD version of it. Each cell is a mixture of certain amounts of principles, let's say a minimum of 1, and a maximum of 7 or 8. Now how the balance principle can work into this is pretty simple: certain principles go better together than other principles, and so like molecules that want to fill their electron levels at 8 (yay, simple chemistry), cells want to maintain a ballance of principles. For instance, transposition is kind of a neutral principle, but darkness and light seem to be more at odds with the other. So if a "cell" was say... transposition-darkness-syntropy and it reacted with a "cell" of syntropy-cyclicity-light the product couldn't have a repeat of the syntropy, and the darkness and light don't want to be together naturally, so the result would be two new cells. One of which (just theorizing) could be syntropy-cyclicty-light and the other syntropy-darkness-transposition. For most reactions the balance would be kept just by the innate randomness of the reaction. Like in biology, it would be a 50-50 toss up which way the principles will switch, and so overall the principles will maintain their relative balance. We run into some problems when we try to react different numbers of principles per cell. What happens when you mix a 3 principle cell with a 5 principle cell? Would a different 5 and 3 be formed? My inclination is that in this case the 5 will want to react down, to be a 4, and the 3 will want to react up, and so there will be two 4 principle cells produced. How then do you get increasing amounts of principles? Simply put, the balance principle won't allow it acting on itself. Syntropy is instead needed to produce the desired affect of, say, combining two 2 principle cells and getting one 4 principle cell. Of course, there are limits. You can't react an 8 principle with another 8 principle, because the cell is too unstable. Where does the energy for a synthesis reaction come from? I'm not sure, but my inclination is that it would come from the degradation of another cell. So, the only way to get a 8 principle cell from two 4 principle cells would be to degrade say five 2 principle cells to ten 1 principle cells. That way the balance will be maintained. Goodness, we can't have 8 principles coming out of nothing! Sorry if that was unnecessarily complex. Comments? Awi
  20. No, they are not. Awi
  21. I'm not sure I would trade silver for those poor rewards.... I might if there was a very slight chance of something truly worth it, like a carnival jester or something. Otherwise, not willing to waste the silver. Awi
  22. Warning! Bio laden Post ------------ There is a note that says "genes" and the image directly beneath it is reminiscent of a single helix, or what would be one side of a double helix DNA molecule. I'm thinking that Mur is substituting the classic bases (Guanine, Adenine, Cytosine, and Thymine) for a number of the principles. Also the pyramid in the first picture could possibly be a pedigree (a map of family genes), and the word cell is in a box, which further strengthens the argument that the splitting is possibly meiosis. As for the split or die, during meiosis and mitosis (but mostly meiosis) if the two homologous pairs of chromosomes do not split correctly, that is two go to one side (which is shown. One side says x2 the other shows a zero) then the cell will self-destruct and not proceed. More bio things, on the second image there is are two circles connected with a note in the middle that say split. This reminds me of paired nucleotides (such as AG or CT), and what could possibly be happening is that certain Principles will pair off in each person to form these kinds of base pairs. Basically I think this is a realization of the idea that each player has DNA, but also that it might be possible to combine two players (sexually....? or perhaps asexually...?). Not exactly sure on the details, but I definitely suspect Mur has shown us DNA using Principles rather than nucleotides. Does this make any sense to anybody? Awi

    Memorials

Here is the next memorial. Please do the same you did for Deetn's memorial for this one. If I have missed anything that should be added, please let me know and I will insert it. If you haven't noticed I'm going from oldest to youngest. ----------------- Ugauga Ugauga was one of the earliest greats of the MagicDuel Society, and what stands out most about him was his willingness to help. One of the first LHOs, Ugauga was constantly hanging around the newbie areas and giving people hints and tips to help ease their way into the early realm. Another way that Ugauga helped the MagicDuel Society was by being the head bug researcher, and for a while whenever there was a bug he investigated it and reported back to Muratus del Mur. In this way he helped the realm become more watertight to the threats of bugs, and improved the overall quality of the game. Although not specifically remembered for his combat ability, Ugauga could nevertheless hold his own in any battle, and spent a good deal of time training and fighting as most everyone did. He was known to prefer training silently, keeping quiet for the most part until someone asked a question. His whereabouts are unknown, and he has not been seen for a good long time. It is unlikely he will return, and he left no promise that he would ever return when he faded away. In the opinion of most, he is dead to the realm forever, but to be remembered.
  24. The private documents (the ones with locks) are viewable only by the K group Archivists. The public documents (the ones without) are viewable by nobody. When you click it, nothing happens. Is that clear enough...? Awi
  25. Right now how I'm figuring out who is "legendary" and who is not is just by how much I have heard their name mentioned, and then going by what exactly they were known for. I don't have unlimited time... so it is unfortunate that cuts need to be made. Also as a general rule, if all the people I ask don't remember the person, then I won't include them. Does that sound fair? It's basically a personal call made by me, but that is the easiest and most practical way of going about it. This is a voluntary duty, after all, so I should be the one to say what I do and do not write. That's just my opinion though. Awi
