How about this: For MP3, no saccrifices allowed (or rather, no benefit from it), but no cap either. This is good for the victims of being capped - they may carry on getting their wins and losses, and gives the grinder a reason to move up -- this is the only way to "harvest the fruit" of their creature grinding. And it prevents you building up a huge VE by saccrifice alone.

How about if you win HC - you advance automatically as part of the prize.

I agree something should be done to change the system. Many possibilities exist. I don't agree single players should be singled out for special treatment by Mur, just because they are braggarts. Special treatment by players is another matter, of course.... Nobody believes this guy is playing his first character in MD, do they?

Room fan blowing on your tower would even help.

even with the word "length" mis-spelled? But I don't have a drach to bet, so nvm.

Oh all right then, 15 silver for #7. -
How about a set of 9 basic (read fairly weak) spells linked to the principle choices you've made - but only given to MP5's? Minor heal, minor attack, defense, power, etc. bonuses, that sort of thing. So everybody would have 5 weak spells if they go MP5.

If MD has a future involving growth, we must have in-game mechanisms for managing the existance and bonuses for alliances. Mur is going to get more and more remote from this sort of stuff - face it now. For instance, alliances should be given new charters & bonuses (by some balancing formula), and even disbanded, by the kings. If a group of people want to "move" they would have to get another king to charter a new alliance for them. Of course you need somebody who can do the same for the auxilary lands, MDA & Tribunal, or some appropriate mechanism for the "landless" alliances.

Referencing my post in the bugs section, the problem with Lore archers is not their basic stats, but the fact that tokens do not upgrade their attacks. If piercing damage was MODIFIED attack instead of "default" attack, and if % loss was capped at 20% AFTER adjusting for defense etc. instead of before those downward adjustments (bringing it up from 5-6% to the equal of Water Being powers), you would have a creature that can fight in the big leagues. As it is now, the aimed hit attack is interesting against basic creatures, but doomed to the minor leagues without tokening ability.

I hate to step on Kyphis's toes here, but he is away, and I wish to personally and publicly thank Firsanthalas for generously supporting my quests. Lifeline has also supported my quests, but then I have some ties to MB as the MDA envoy to MB. Jester has always taken the hard line that his wp codes are only for quests created by his citizens. No shame - firm policy. Yrthilian has sometimes supported, sometimes not, but the purpose here is NOT just to get a clear reading on Loreroot wp code policy. The concern I brought to Kyphis's attention here is that because we are MDA, all these requests for wp codes are "outside the normal channels". As such, they are a fragile thing outside the system, and this lack of regular process should be a concern for MDA leadership as an ongoing issue for the future. If we "wear out our welcome", the trend I worry about is that it might become that the hardest part of making a quest from a position of MDA citizenship is getting appropriate rewards lined up. This is my persepective - I am a worrier. Kyphis is looking for independent confirmation of the situation from other sources here, i.e., the Kings.

I'd only give you 3 sc appiece, if you can't find higher bidders.

Trade you an imp for it. Offer not open indefinitly, however.

The simple answer is INTJ but I've had this analyzed the whiz out of in corporate life. They break it down into sub-catagories, and talk about how it changes with life experience or training. My (current) wife and I are only "mildly I" by the global number, but actually extremely polarized in sub-catagories. We are very socially private people who like to get on the stage and perform (i.e., musicians) -- then run home and collapse. Naturally a N but learned to use the skills of an S by staying in school until I was 26. But it's work. Naturally a very uptight TJ but beaten down by losing my (late) wife, and thus sometimes take a more passive humanitarian view - I can slip over to the FP when moved to do so. The move from T to F is not uncommon with age and shifting values. The move from J to P is more a matter of depression in my case. The value of this whole excercise, in my mind, is to understand how people (especially yourself) naturally operate, and frame their values systems, so that you can a)understand others motivations better, and b) conciously adopt a different attitude than your instinct would have done, when you deliberately choose something more appropriate to a situation. Ability to function in all 16 spheres by choice (not saying I can) is a matter of either super good acting, or a sign of maturity. Another VERY good use of this tool - character sketches in writing fiction. Stay true to the Meyers Briggs type chosen for a character, and they will have stronger identity on the page. I once set a writing exercise for a workshop - write a paragraph describing a person walking into a train station, buying a ticket, and getting on the train - but do it differently for each of the 16 personality types. Fun.

Suggestion For Avatar Gallery
Fyrd Argentus replied to dragonrider7's topic in MD Artworks (former Artisans Guild)
I support anything that lets us see more avys. I'm not spending credits on a new random selection, but I might buy something I see on impulse. We used to see a parade march by. Now I'm beginning to resent the few ugly ones I see over and over when I go back. So I stop going back. You got to get us interested again if you want us spending credits on this. -
Several Alts Having Roles In Different Lands?
Fyrd Argentus replied to Chewett's topic in General Forum
To play devil's advocate -- what if with all these new guilds, there are not enough active players to staff everything? I am suggesting that we consider these "guilds" to be a lesser thing that true alliances, such that you can be a citizen, and alliance member, and a guild member. Further, rather than worry about creating a zillion alts to staff them all, how about just above-board rules of trade and if somebody doesn't behave the leadership kicks them out.... -
Okay, I see now that the shop write-up has information that is inconsistent with the aura statements that appear on the creatures. However it is wrong, as my lvl 1's do boost each other. Still needs cleaned up. Bird aura effect still an issue.

Not exactly a bug, but I don't think this is intended. The rules on aimed attack in the announcements indeed define everything based on "default" statistics. I find that indeed, tokens don't matter. I hope this will be changed. Test was on a sharpshooter vs. a lone tree. I suppose loreroot archers function the same, but no test. Fyrd Argentus's Creature Tokens [claw2, claw1, blooddrop2, stardust, emeraldglare, kellethafire, jewelshards, firedrop] Principles based tokens are at 95% capacity [claw2] breakes freeze. [claw2] Father [b]gets 990 attack [/b]and 0 regeneration based on Principles. [claw1] breakes freeze. [claw1] Father [b]gets 1000 power[/b] based on Princiles. [blooddrop2] breakes freeze. [blooddrop2] gets 8 initiative (10 percent) [blooddrop2] Father gets 4 defence (25 percent) [b]and 285 attack (25 percent)[/b] due to principles combination. [stardust] breakes freeze. [stardust] Father [b]gets 32 regeneration and power[/b], 8 luck . [emeraldglare] breakes freeze. [emeraldglare] Father gets 0 regeneration and 0 defence based on enemy creature skills [kellethafire] breakes freeze. [kellethafire] Father gets +50% vitality due to missin Light and/or Element Principle. [jewelshards] breakes freeze. [jewelshards] Father gets Max Vitality capacity doubled. [firedrop] breakes freeze. Applying 5% of Fyrd Argentus's energetic influence Applying 1% of Shemhazaj's energetic influence Fyrd Argentus's Father does aimedhit to strong creature(s) of Shemhazaj and: - Treant receives AIMED HIT with 916 damage (100 piercing + 6.51% (tried 1025%) of enemy vitality. Attack force 100%, enemy defence resistance: 1.152, enemy level resistance: 2.667 ) and remains with 11612 vitality ps. Base Power of 20 divided by 1.152, divided by 2.667 gives 6.51%. Base attack was 100, untokened. pps. It "tried 1025%" which would have been near my actual power, but it defaulted to untokened value.

Bloodpact archer attack statistic drops. There SHOULD be that drop in damage based on that alone. The weird thing may be that it only dropped half of it.

This is my analysis of half-dozen battles. I may be missing something like a noob, but it sure isn't doing what I expected, and the hypothetical "rules" above would explain what I see. I'm asking for help testing this, as more heads are better than one here. Or is everybody else happy with their understanding of cross-group bonus auras, and I should eat their dust? I doubt it.

SPOILER WARNING. I think that WRONG documentation should be pointed out, and is not a spoiler, but others may think differently. Personally, I think wrong documentation should be fixed, but if this is supposed to be figured out by the players, then NO documentation would be better than wrong stuff. This is all in reference to the attack bonus auras claimed by Imps and Birds. This may have always been this way, or changed with the new archer rules. My data is sketchy, and may be wrong in some details, but clearly shows a problem My current belief is: 1. Imp Assassin level lists aura TWICE but it does only factor once. 2. Imp auras do affect themselves, not just OTHERS. 3. Imp auras do NOT affect bloodpacts. 4. Bird auras affect Imps, but not bloodpacts. Perhaps others can verify this, and expand the test matrix. We might discuss here what the families should look like. p.s. This was tested on creatures whose attack is mostly from tokens.....

Idea For Resource-Based Guild
Fyrd Argentus replied to pamplemousse's topic in Implemented or Dismissed
I think this would be a wonderful development, however the staffing requirements are fast outstripping available players. I would suggest that all these things be a "seondary" guild alliance function that can be done in parallel with primary alliance membership. In response to announcements, I made inquiry about my "bottle of vinegar" being a food processing item (pickling). Here is the correspondence: Original message: This item is useful in preserving perishable food. I.e., it could be a tool used for gathering foodstuffs, if such exist. I have role-played making pickles (for my quest awards) from vegetables picked behind the hut north of Wind's, and of course the Tribunal garden. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *From: Muratus del Mur (ID:1028) *sent 18 hours and 6 minutes ago Read later RE:Bottle of Vinegar yes it can become usable under the new features. wait please for the cooking guild or anything that will be similar. Once that is in place your item might be actually used in a salad or to create pickles if you provide the vegetables. (remind me then) -
@Grido - Yes, digits represent 1 through 10. I think it would tremendously confuse people to try to reverse. Most of my creatures start with a 6, and as pointed out, the oldest creatures may only have 5 digits. More slots is an unavoidable advantage. I don't think favoring older creatures would be a good thing.... And calling a 1 an ace would exempt it from being in a straight.... @Nex - Once a "killer" card is found, I expect the victims to post that fact here, and future battles with that person reference that card as an "exclusion". But, if you think you can beat that card, you offer to play without the exclusions, and see what the opponent will bet. In all cases, you don't want to reveal your best cards until you have to. It's sort of like playing "chicken". Regarding suits - my original treatment is as if there is only 1 suit so every hand would be a flush. Not consistent. Okay, then... CHANGE: straights are straights, not straight-flushes. (this does undervalue straights vs. true odds, but what the heck... let's follow poker rules here.)
