1. I definitely didn't get one this time.
2. I've been all for that since christmas, love it! Also, I'm totally looking forward to whatever will happen to protector system. Just one thought I'd like to throw in: It would be nice if MP-requirements properly showed on a creature, not just 'advance mp' when trying to upgrade without the matching mp-level.
3. My condolences. We'll be waiting for you. *hug*
4. I find that rather unlikely, my... do-stupid-newbie-stuff accounts have 2 resets available, one with just 9 or 10 active days, and they are rather young with 180k-range. Maybe it's an unannounced change, because my only just created newbie has no reset available, either.
5. Physically, Sun is an unavoidable random event. Given the lifespan of the universe, even the most improbable things are bound to happen, like a hydrogen cloud collapsing to such a point that a fusion starts all on it's own. [Hail to Adams!] Metaphysically, the sun is either the incarnation of a god (Utu, Schamasch, Ra, Helios, Sol Invictus) or a thing created by the gods (Sol [norse]) to spend life to mankind. In MD, i'm personally convinced that the sun is the source of all magic (therefore, everything). That's why there's so much fuss about heat and its uses, be it personal growth, magics, praying, etc.
6. I apply to be on anti-bunny team as the obligatory bunny minion spy
7. Negative Briskness makes you get negative heat, Immunity under 100 makes you lose VE on hostile territory, negative luck makes you have bad luck and loses VP/AP randomly when running. It's all on your profile

S - for your smile, which beams at me with your rotten teeth whenever we hug. A - for your arms, those big, strong hams that squeeze me to death like a bug. M - for your moves, the elephantine way you walk, and stomp things in your way. U - for your unattachedness, the indepence that makes me want to stay. E - for your ears, so cute, they think everything i say rhymes. L - for your lollypop, which you let me lick at times. And for that, i post it here, for everyone to see, No matter what the people say, Samuel spells love to me.
9. Everything that is not in the rules, help pages, etc. is a spoiler. Because those are things people are supposed to be finding out on their own. Yes. The more people listen, the worse the spoiler is, because it affects a lot more people. Most of them don't even ask for help, because they want to figure things out on their own, but there's no way to not read chat, really. It's like going through MD with your eyes closed, pointless. Use cryptic hints, tell them where to look for hints, tell them what creatures they should pay more attention to. Imo, no. Most of them are spilling things accidentally, and understand that they have to watch their mouth when being told so. If there ever happens to be somebody who doesn't, there's always mouth sewing, toad-turning and jailing. Without any special rules on what comes first...
10. Happy birthday... you're getting old
11. 90 is max AP. You don't get more max through story, even when it says so.
12. Sweetie, I'm a writer at best. English is just my second language, I'm not good enough to do chief of staff. And apart from that, I have no tools, knowledge, time, or creativity, to bring pieces together as a paper. If I was doing something, it'd be a section of the forum, not what Gargy did. xD Find a chief to do the layout stuff and final editing, then we can talk about writing a paper again.
13.
*Pig makes a deep bow to the missing audience* ehemmm...I Pig... am Hello World!!! *applauds himself frenetically*
The parts i highlighted blue are 'actions', as well as your sentence appears to be not exactly speech, but rather what you'd say as pig-character in game. Chewett meant to say that such, actions and purposely broken english, are out of place on the forum. Rider's topic is about giving away an avatar. Whether you find the presentation entertaining or not is up to you, but it's, at best, a story, not an action. Also, Wookie likes to be clear when telling people off
14. I'd rather view it as creative input to enhance MD being rewarded with WPs, like it's been done before. Also, apo asked me about my experience with that quest, and unfortunately, i have to say that few of the ideas that were handed in were actually run lateron. Therefore, it somewhat missed the point of making more quests available back then. He's even giving credit to the people who actually created it, it just so happens that few have Wookie-knowledge of code, and some have no access to clickies at all, but decent ideas to use them. I like the idea of rewarding quest creators if their quests are smart.
15. Coincidentally, I've just today heard an interesting quote about love in bioshock 2.
"Love is just a chemical. We give it meaning by choice." Sofia Lamb Rather, the texter of 2K Marin... probably, unless they copied it <.<
I think I'd have to say, it's both. Without meaning, it stays just a chemical. But without the chemical, it's not love.
16. Maybe it confuses people that they only attack the tutorial shades right from the map at first, and then have to attack other people from the player-list. It says that you do that somewhere, but people never read things, apparently. And they rarely use the LiveHelp button at an early age. It seems that they rather leave than have the inconvenience of typing out what's worrying them.
17. Have you tried to clear your cache and cookies? Also, there's two of the guards. They do different things. Try both

It appears that the picture for the MD Award 2010 Medal (the little icon for the avatars) is either not uploaded or incorrectly linked. Beneath, i pasted the link my source inspectors claims for said award, which is leads to an 404 error. http://magicduel.com/art/medals/award2010.gif
19. I don't mind being quoted at all, don't worry, duxie. But I'd like to point out that my quest is by now consisting of 3 parts. The first indeed is a newbie-quest, it's kept very simple, very obvious and I tried to make it informative, like a tutorial. The second part, which is clearly parted from the first part by saying 'Watch out, that's not a newbie-task any more, it might take you a long time to solve it', will probably be known to some of you, because it's a recycled version of my first quest ever. It's built to be rather hard for the group it targets, young players who want to get tougher creatures, but doesn't really pose a problem to a veteran. Those, obviously, have no incentive to beat it, because they don't need the reward The last part, the one i call the 'Expansion Pack', is extremely hard and sets both veterans and newbies at a problem they haven't seen so far. I have absolutely NOT designed that part as tutorial or newbie quest, it's something you don't solve by talking to people and finding clues. And it requires profound knowledge of combat which you don't get on MP4. So, when i say 'practically, you need to be mp5' I mean that you can't completely solve it just like that. The newbie part itself is rather simple. Why do i put it in one big framework, then? Because I don't feel like making 3 different games for 3 age groups. Instead i took a big chunk and split it in 3 parts. Felt like a good idea to make a newbie quest that leads people into the big, unsolved questions of MD instead of stopping at the basic interface, combat and lands stuff.
20. I would think that the deciduous trees are simply dominant in the climate of Loreroot and MB. At my home place, i only ever see trees with leaves when they are planted by men, the needle plants, first and foremost spruce and larch, handle our short, dry summers and long, cold winters much better, and are less likely to break under the snow due to their tall, slim growth. When i travel 1500 feet lower and a bit to south, i can see the leaf trees in between gradually, until they make more of the woods in the warmer regions of Italy. Maybe the forests are simply too tropical for the tiny pines and spruces.
21. eh, I just remembered princess Apricot of the Mushroom Kingdom, the princess in my quest If you give your characters and places made up names, you can easily take parts of the actual stories of things, and mix it with things that you invented for the sake of your quest. Just make sure that fact and fiction blend into each other, that way your story is original and interesting, and still loosely based on MD... Just loosely enough to allow everything you like. A few examples from what i did in Apricot's quest: Bridge of Ages turned into a wobbly, wooden bridge leading over a big river. Mt. Kelle'tha was an icy cliff in a storm, and instead of pyramids, Wind Dragons lived on top. Tribunal was populated with mad cannibals and little girls that sold flowers. To the feet of the cliffs of Deathmarrow sat a lake full of water daimons, and within angiens dwelled to guard an enormous treasure. Obviously, all of that is loosely based on actual places, actual persons and some actual story, but after changing the names, nobody really bothered^^

I think Aster wants to put the sold avatars and the chat logs etc. hidden, so that only the currently available avatars are left in the initial post.
Update 2: Minors (those below 18) will be required to get a parent or guardians signature. To avoid any future legal issues. If your parents have any issues that they are unsure of they can contact me via email which is shown in my profile or by emailing ethnographybrendon@gmail.com. Update 3: I'm starting to wright my proposal now so i need to look into getting signatures in order to get approval of the committee. since i am just starting the writing process I want to get a feel for who is planning to go through with it. Run the mile as it where. I still have to edit and personalize it for this particular study but this is what you will have to sign. I will send you individual copies via email. For those still interested please send you real name as it is required to be added to your copy. Please be sure to note update 2 and make sure your parents understand. I will need yours and there's in order to continue. The Draft Template: Template Make sure to see the second page.
Questions: I'm well over 18, does your uni still need the signatures of my parents? Because i can definitely tell that they won't sign a form to give out any information at all to a university half the world away. That probably cooperates with USA. We don't like you North Americans. At all. <- Note, they actually are that paranoid. Other than that, what's the procedure to 'sign'? Put the original in an envelope and send it over, hoping it reaches you before next christmas? Sign and scan? Or just say that you read it and agree? No clue what's required for that study... Also, on another note, you folks are paranoid. We do such studies on university twice a month, and never need to sign any forms.
