1. Happy birthday, goatie
2. In my opinion, the market section has a far greater reach then the mood panel. You can do a better presentation of your goods if you are not limited to 70 characters, more people read it, it doesn't vanish, and it's a lot easier to track offers, because those don't vanish, either. Also, as far as i know, there are no ingame punishments for attempted frauds, while i think those should definitely exist on the forum. The Central Market makes trading a lot easier, because both supply and demand know that they can go there for most of their needs. It's like a stock exchange, if you wish. The stocks could be sold without a stock exchange, but it's way easier for buyer and seller to meet in NYSE than in the backyard of their homes. In turn for the benefits of the centralized market, they have to obey stricter rules than in other places.
3. Wrong location, moved to market section.
4. I've just done the story this morning, and i pride myself with a little knowledge about the keys used in there, if you cut out two or three bits from the scroll it doesn't hurt, but skips a whole lot of going back and forth. If you get the portable map immediately, and cut the land guardian, you'd get rid of all the back and forth. Currently, you need to go to road of battles, the go back to view the map, then to howling gates, then back to grab the portable map, then to path of loneliness and back to howling gates again because the bull sits on the way. If you move grabbing the map forward to before you leave the cabin, you can just move through to the aramory without further ado, no going back and forth and no reading the scroll every two steps. I don't think the shade walk should just vanish, they are really important for the story. If you don't use that any more, the whole story needs a redsign, and i still like it a lot. And the MP2 thing would need to happen before the story, for obvious reasons. They don't need to be anatomically correct, if you know what i mean, it just needs to read and write in chat and get you through some dummy fights. If they actually have any principles or not doesn't matter at all, it just needs to look like a fight, just that it stops every now and then and points at something, like a golden blinky around creatures, attacks, damages etc.
5. If you want to go for such a drastic change, it should probably be more like MP2. Lock them up in Marble Dale park as MP2 without the option to attack anybody or be attacked by anybody and set up some demo dummies, they get to see chat and get to talk to people and learn one thing about the system at a time. First dummy, they get a predefined rit against a weak dummy, second dummy, they must create a rit from a predefined list, third dummy, they get a rit with a few tokens. It doesn't need to be a normal combat, just a set up log they need to watch. Like, this is your creature, this is his creature, this is the damage done, this is damage taken, setting up a rit works like this, oh look there, the token made it deal 150 more damage than usual. I think the current intro pages are perfectly fine, just a little too much reading and too little doing. If we take what's written there and mash it up into a learning by doing interface, it'd work much better for most people. Like, you surely know those little puzzle flashgames they create for smartphones these days? They never make you read anything, the first level is just telling you exactly what to do: Put the bomb in the glowing ring, then push FIRE for it to go off, make sure to kill all vikings with as little bombs as possible. Then they get to the old tutorial with a few tweaks, the welcome pages get cut a little because they already did all that, and the story gets adjusted a little: (taken from LHO subforum, wrote it this morning in catchwords) Prologue: '"This is as far as you should go, at least for now. Even though you saw the Map of the Realm, after moving this far into the No Man's Land, it does not do you any good. You should return to the Paper Cabin and search for a copy of the Map of the Realm. This way, you will never get lost and you will be saved of a lot of coming and going to the Paper Cabin. "' Skip this bit, give portable map one step earlier Generally give the scroll and map from touching the big scroll and the big map, they are copied for you anyway. '"Well, your first encounter with one of the many creatures of MagicDuel was not as pleasant as anybody would have hoped for. However, you can still surpass that ferocious obstacle, if you manage to find some help. There might be a few creatures willing to help you, in the furthest Southern end of the Realm. Consult your Map and explore that region."' Skip that, the land guardian doesn't do anything anyway. ' "Now it is time to return to the Land Guardian. However, once you have a creature bound to yourself, you begin to attract other creatures which desire only to devour your vitality."' Change to paper cabin instead of land guardian Maybe my fault, but i have to click all shades after they are dead before they vanish. not good. Shade IV defeats you without battle, stupid. NEwbie boost destroyed their purpose already, but you should LOSE when you lose. The whole prologue works on keys anyways, give that one two keys, first fight impossible, second cheap as always. Make the popup tell that you should get a second creature or something to beat it. Shade IV should be attackable without going back to old mand road when you heal your aramor. Maybe funny coincidence, but liquid shade (wall) used only weaken, didn't even try to beat me If you pick waiting, bring out popup that tells the patience line from the welcome screen again Also pointer to the top line, specially forums and free credits.
6. That would mean that the coin production gets independent from the Shop, which doesn't sound like a good idea to me. If you need gold, you have to buy gold or trade for gold. Likewise if you need silver. I don't think it's good if you can buy the cool items with silver and trade for the gold, which you need to dig deeper for and buy on its own.
7. Congrats, you'll definitely be a great mum
8. On the drachorns, it's quite simple, there is no need for a new master, the population is too high already. The distribution might be a little unfair, yes, but the amount of them, and of the angiens, is easily high enough for the number of players. I'd need to count to see just how many drachlings the lair contains currently, but it is a whole lot, and the melodic charm is all finished, there's just nobody doing anything cool enough to deserve one of those. MP3 is what it is because of some mistakes in Mur's plan, and that's unfortunate, but inevitable. Luckily we got MP limits for creatures, you have no idea what it'd be like without them. Chewett said it, Mur and the council aren't flawless, but they make the decisions, we can only rant when we find the flaws. And, as we aren't flawless, either, sometimes we see flaws where none exist. Spoilers are, and that is also very unfortunate, a lot more common these days, because there are many more who understand tiny bits and want to 'help their friends', or, more often, make a bargain in a deal with somebody who knows too little to see how he's tricked. Of course that doesn't get better with the general MP3 situation, where some are a lot stronger than others, but that's a global change. Either we change it back, or we adjust, and one of those options isn't in our power. You can't apply what you found out about MD a year ago to MD now. You can't even apply your findings of yesterday to the MD of tomorrow. That's what Mur meant with perpetual alpha.
9. It's head contest, that's quite normal and happens all the time. What makes you think it'd be such an important thing? Moved to sparring grounds section.
10. Rule 3 of the auction says that there's one token to be bid for, not two. The avatar guys are just so friendly that they tell you roughly how many tokens there will be in total. Much like Mur's auctions when he says that he's selling one elu out of a total of 50. What happens to the second token is not clarified, it might be another auction, or granted for special achievements, or used as quest reward... All we know is that there'll be 2 a month, and one can be bid for right now. Oh, also, include your playername in the bids. If you don't do that, the token might get lost on the way, they didn't write that for the fun of it.
11.
Golemus Golemicarum Guerrilla Golemicarum -Primary Golemus alliance -Clear leadership -Few new recruits -Develop training partnership with other alliances -Target younger players for recruitment, giving you members and them purpose
Thanks for the nice input, but any not-grinder form of 'training' is pointless currently, and i'll not recruit newbies as long as an ally can be taken against the ally's will with such ease.
12. Not sure about it, but maybe your opponent plays in romanian, and mur made romanian change the standard names into romanian.
13. You can't link ap and ve that easily, because a strong fighter could essentially perma-movelock his victims, while move at top speed all the time himself. That'd break stuff seriously. If you're beaten, you can run, and if you run fast, you can outrun people who want to hurt you, that's why vitality and action are completely separated. Value is some kind of money if you wish. You can find some on the road, or lose some if you're unlucky, you can win some in combat, and you gradually earn some just by being around. Think of it like that: Your mere presence adds something the realm, and the realm pays you for it. The only thing that matters is the size of your purse, that's what limits your buying and upgrading activities. You'll find that you can also be in debt to the realm, with lots of negative VP. Then you'll see how dearly you need your VP, when you have to delay all your upgrading for weeks because you need to get back into money first. I must say that the idea of healing in sanctuaries has some appeal, though. Maybe 100% AP converted to 10% VE or something... You can't turn sanctuaries into quick heal stations, that's totally not the point of MD. We move slow and steady, and we don't bring our critters to the poke-center and have them all back to full health in 5 seconds But it could work to let people heal themselves by coming online while they are in a sanctuary and spend their AP to heal up, it'd probably make the sanctuaries a little more lively... Back in the days, when i still needed health, i caught myself quite often staying offline all day long because i couldn't help my healing by being online anyways. If you could heal quicker by being there, you'd probably interact with the people who are hanging out, too...
14. A clicky that does its thing without being activated by somebody is most definitely an abusive code. No matter how good your intentions are, if that worked, it'd need to be fixed (or kept secret in the workshops of Chewie and Ren xD) And not even LHOs are working 24/7, and much less do we watch the triggers all the time. Most of my working time i spent logged in and with the volume pretty high so i hear when chat or PMs send me a ping, since weather spells don't do that, i would most likely miss out on it. And i'm surely not the only one, because looking at a scree that does nothing for 2 hours gets kind of annoying over the months. Maybe you could find all the people who have weather spells and ask them to record it when they use it?
15. The heat goes down by one a second, just like it does outside of items. That's not related to how often you check the clicky.
16. Big thanks to Rendril for the fixes today
17. I dislike NPCs in general. Could you elaborate on what happens if you beat them? I mean, they can't just be there for their own sake, that's not what an NPC does. Do you get a back door to Necrovion if you beat them, or access to a cool shop, or whatever? And what level of power should they have? Do you easily beat them with MP5 creatures, or do you require MP6 creatures for that? Will they have massive stats, or 'normal' ones?
18. Happy birthday! share your cake with us!
19. How about a button to activate all the vote links, for the people who want all at once? Hitting each of the buttons seperately, and always waiting for the refresh, takes lots of time and nerves, which i'd rather waste in chat than on the free creds page

Dead Again

Kharma. That's what it does to people who kill the innocent wookies of MD. Also, despite the importance of Kharma, not really an important discussion issue of no man's land. Moved to offtopic, lest somebody knows a better place. I'll suggest a coffin section for the dead and their problems, i think
21. -prod- Still not solved. Got another empty message this morning, hooray
22. I like combat contests. It's the only kind of quest where efforts of all times are considered in the quest, all the rest are pretty much about working right now, no matter what else you have to do, or lose.
23. Pin - yes, no mans land - not so much. Moved to Game development, pinned this and unpinned some old stuff.
24. *revamp* Two weeks passed, new input for the council before they decide? I'd like the balance system to be tweaked until perfect balance is a highly desirable state of being again. That'd bring the balance back into the game, whereas it's only about heat losing now. More things to consider when fighting might make people less aggressive, and increase the value of combat again.
25. I think you mixed up sexy and cuddly on me. I'm well aware that i'm lots sexier than Grido, i can cope with that. Also... i have a good doc for all those nasty little things my princesses carry around... <.< >.>
