1.
The dojo was around for months at least and it died to. I'm not an expert on the dojo subject, but what it looked like to me is that several people were doing a lot of work for the dojo and eventually this became a burden carried by too few people. The success of the GGG mainly depends on how many people are enforcing the GGG rules and to what lengths they will go. I don't think there's that many of them and I doubt they'll be convinced through a forum topic. If anything these recurring threads rally support to the GGG and issue caution to it's captains... but to say that it is impossible to remove it, that almost sounds like a challenge.
By "to late" I don't mean it is impossible. Look at the other things I said. What I mean was that the damage had already been done in terms of grinding (its been around for what, a year and a half now?), and far to many people know how to do it for it to be possible to prevent them from useing this form of training in small groups (say, two people) without Mur himself intervening. Sure, it is possible to prevent the GGG from existing. But any method you could use WILL only harm the WHOLE of MD. The only viable solution is to make it un-worthwhile to the majority of people who use it: Grinders. There are lots of ways of going about that, however so far in this topic I have not seen any other suggestions. It's all very well to point out a problem, but if you can't suggest a solution that isn't worse, what good do you do?
2. I agree that the GGG has been detrimental to the game. It removes players from other locations, making the place seem more barren. It encourages Grinders, who slaughter anyone who hasn't been playing very long. And, it even has a rule saying to keep RP to a minimum, so there is very little social interaction other than announcing bursts. HOWEVER. Because it has been around for so long, it is already too late to remove it. I do use the GGG, but I do not use it for stat grinding (anyone who knows me knows I only sacc creatures with no wins or experience). While most people do use it for stat grinding, there are also people who use it to genuinely train their creatures. I spend very little time there, basically just when I get close to the cap or close to maxing a creature. And I know a few (not many) other players do the same. I also do not think that banning gatherings like the GGG will improve the atmosphere of the game, be easily enforced, or WORK at all. What I think WILL work, and will not detract from MD, is to cap the amount of stats a creature can give you when sacced. Something low like up to 10 higher than its minimum sacc reward should do it. Because a lot of people go to the GGG purely to grind stats, most of them will not bother (especially when normal combat will give FAR better stats, anyway) This doesn't prevent Grinding by any means, if you trained say 6 archers at once you would still get 60 attack plus their base reward each time, but instead of taking weeks the process would take months or even years, when you could get the same sort of stat increase in one day of real training.
3. A big part of the problem is that players stay at MP3/4 specifically to win the HC, thinking it will give them a huge advantage at MP5 (which it rarely does) Because of this, most of the eligible MP5 don't even care about the Heads contest It wouldn't solve the problem by any means, but if instead of striking through the MP5 names they where removed, it would help to make it a lot clearer than it is now.
4. This is an edited chatlog from the GoE during the initial examination, I would appreciate if a mod would put it in the spoiler box so as to not make the topic incredibly long with logs.
Keith Moon: *mutters* Deep incision wound, about 8 cm wide. Looks like it punctured the pulmonary artery. She died quickly, and without much pain. Keith Moon: No, it was a blade of some kind. *points* see the jagged edges of the wound? Keith Moon: And given the amount of blood on her, I'd say she died of blood loss and/or shock. : Virtuous Pride spies the body of Mya Celestia and the blood drains from his face. : Virtuous Pride falls to his knees beside the body, motionless at first. : Darigan watches Virtuous carefully : Virtuous Pride trembles at first, opening his case, but removes special eyewear, and steadies himself, taking a deep breath. : Virtuous Pride looks around at those gathered. : Virtuous Pride tugs on his shirt, and then mimes the outline of a large square. : Virtuous Pride looks around, a little more frantically, repeating the gesture and tugging on his shirt harder. Keith Moon: Let's give the doc some room. Darigan: I think he'd like some cloth Kyphis: I have a few Oilcloths in my pack, as well as a large towel : Amoran K Kol stands from Mya's body and moves back a bit, nodding respectfully to Virtuous Pride. : Virtuous Pride frowns deeply and mouths a curse, quickly removing his own shirt to to cover Mya Celestia's body as he tears open her clothing. : Kyphis sets down his pack and pulls out two large, folded oilcloths, and a folded towel : Kyphis walks over and sets the three bundels by Virtuous, then steps back again : Virtuous Pride leans over Mya Celestia's chest, doning the eyewear to examine the wound. : Virtuous Pride concentrates on examining the wound, reaching out for a small, metal instrument, pulling the tissue back. : Virtuous Pride removes the eyewear and searches his pack for a small vial and brush. : Darigan mutters quietly to himself : Virtuous Pride brushes a small amount of the contents onto the wound, watching. : Pamplemousse crouches at Mya's feet and quickly collects a few drops of the woman's blood in a vial, storing it within her robes : Amoran K Kol watches Virtuous silently, digging her nails into the skin of her forearm. : Virtuous Pride waits anxiously, his previous tremors subsided. : Kyphis raises an eyebrow at Pamplemousses action, but says nothing : Virtuous Pride feels a blow from the side, stumbles a bit, and glares at nadrolski. : Darigan watches Pample carefully : Pamplemousse flashes Darigan a sharp, dark smile and stands near the steps again : Virtuous Pride rights himself and begins to work on Mya Celestia again. Darigan: *mumbles* you'd know something of snakes wouldn't you Pamplemousse: Mmm, what's that Darigan? : [Spell] Tendrils of Shadow - nadrolski : Virtuous Pride finds another vial, adding its contents to area around the wound to wait again. Darigan: *takes a deep breath and glares at her with subtle fury* what do you plan to do with the vial : Virtuous Pride cocks his head to the side as a faint blue glow surrounds the wound. : Amoran K Kol shakes her head and looks toward Virtuous once more, her features softening to a look of deep sadness. Pamplemousse: Darigan, if you are going to call me out, you best use your boldest shout. The blood of the innocent is useful in many areas, no? : Darigan twitches once more : Virtuous Pride pulls out his tome, scribbling notes. Pamplemousse: I'll take your twitch as an agreement. Darigan: *stares at Keith and returns his gaze to Pample clenching his fists* you have no right to that blood Pamplemousse: I took it, did I not? Pamplemousse: And you didn't do much to stop me. Nor did you do much to stop the muder of your lovely wife, either. : Virtuous Pride sits down heavily and sighs, shaking his head back and forth. : Darigan shakes near uncontrollably Darigan: You.... Pamplemousse: Again you shake your assent. Pamplemousse: Did you swear to protect her, Darigan? : Darigan releases an inhuman growl from deep within his chest clenching his fists as his knuckles turn white Pamplemousse: *tilts her head towards him and says softly* Did you vow to let no harm come to her? : Virtuous Pride slowly packs up his equipment and stand, tears appearing in the corner of his eyes. : Darigan stares at Virtuous his attention breifly diverted Darigan: what was the blue glow Darigan: what did you find : Virtuous Pride stares down at Mya, his lower lip quivering. Pamplemousse: I think he found that you failed, you betrayed your wife, Darigan. You caused her death. : Virtuous Pride quickly turns to Pamplemousse, eyes dark, and slaps her hard across the face, : Virtuous Pride turns on Darigan and backhands him in a similar way. : Amoran K Kol jumps slightly and looks to Virtuous Pride and Pample, eyes wide. : Darigan snaps to staring at Virtuous Pamplemousse: She was such a wonderfu- *holds her hand to her cheek as it burns with his slap* : Virtuous Pride turns away and stalks off. Pamplemousse: *smiles* A slap from a dragon, my, I feel lucky today indeed. Darigan: I did not slap you dear pample if i had...you'd be laid out upon the ground Pamplemousse: *soothes her cheek* Doesn't change a damn thing, Darigan. Pamplemousse: If not a slap, then what would you call that, dear Dairy? Assira the Black: Pample, It was Virtuous who slapped you. Amoran K Kol: *to Pample.* Her many faces do not smile upon you this day. : *Mya Celestia* moans softly as she drifts among the pillars of the gazebo Pamplemousse: Or too many faces, it would seem. Darigan: *sighs* well that was somewhat useless Amoran K Kol: Yes.. just as you have.
7. I offer myself for consideration, bringing the forms of Dance, Poem, and general Prose to the guild. So long as this guild remains neutral and does not conflict with my duties to the Speakers or MDA, my services will be available.
8. Interesting, I almost always read my logs and I have never seen that happen. Might be worth saving a copy of a "Bugged" log and making a report in the bug reporting section of the forum.
9. The Golden Globe Gazebo is found in the MDA, go north west of Winds and when you pass through the MDA Gate check your map. The detailed combat log is suppossed to look like a bunch of code, that's not a glitch. Highlighting the scrolling code will give you almost exactly the same data as the detailed log (except some bits of data are missing, and it's all more condensed so more confusing) Gold Coins are available at the end of each shop branch (one per shop branch, per shop reset), and there are 40 silver coins at the end of one of the shop branches. Items trade by going to your inventory panel (the link is in the red cluster above the mood panel, but if you have no items it will be empty), and typing in the name of the person you want to give it to. They also need to be in the same location as you. Creatures trade in a different manner entirely. When you go to your bestiary, and click on a creature, at the bottom is a captcha code for you to type in. If you type in the captcha code, it reveals the CTC code for you (the captcha is to prevent people stealing your creatures via scripts, be glad for it). On the Bestiary page, right before the list of creatures and below the graphic showing worshipers and VE%, there is a link saying [Transfer creatures here]. To trade, a person copies the CTC of a creature, gives it to someone else, and the recipient pastes the CTC into the Creature Transfer Page. Transferring creatures resets their level to basic, removes all experience and wins, and removes 40% of their age (not all). A traded creature also gives no heat when sacrificed. At the GoE there is a clickable that you can use to verify the CTC is the creature you are after. If you look at your CTC you will notice that all CTC's begin with CTC, then they have random numbers and letters, then hallfway through they say MDC, followed by more random letters. Where a clickable requires you to enter a CTC, you only copy from the CTC to the MDC, the letters and numbers after MDC are not required to use it in a clickable. This is so that people can't steal your creatures. Avatars are traded in a manner similar to creatures, except instead of a CTC it is an ATC, and the avatar vault is accessed via the Profile page instead of the bestiary. We are not allowed to tell you how to solve puzzles like the Loreroot guards (we can give tips, but not especially helpful ones. Just rephrasings of the signpost basically), and it is better not to ask because it is possible to get banned for giving away puzzles (some people don't know this, so it's better not to ask in case they give it away and they get banned for being helpful, and that would not be nice). As far as Rituals, the best place to learn that would be the GoE, followed by the sparring ground. In the Sparring Ground you have a bit of social protection, but the GoE has far more experienced fighters who will be able to help you more. You need to use special rituals at the GGG, but they are entirely useless everywhere else in the realm, so while you will want to learn how to set those rituals, don't go there to learn combat rituals (there are exceptions, but that's mostly true) Coloured creatures come from the MD Shop, about half the creatures have coloured versions. There is a special limited edition creature called a NutCracker, only available for a few days in December very deep in the shop, which is a powerful healing creature that targets the opponent. While most of the time if people are advertising healing (almost always, in fact) they are referring to a spell, some people (such as myself) will heal others useing this creature. However, this creature only heals creatures, while the Spell heals your personal VE instead. It is important to recognize the difference when receiving healing. By the way, until you reach MP5 Regen rituals are BAD. You can use them, but they will not help you. Their function is to reduce the opponents personal experience, BUT this effect only comes into effect when you reach MP5 (and they they are vital for training). Before that stage, all they do is reduce your creature experience and your stats, and they don't effect your personal experience (except in odd occasions to INCREASE it) If you have any other general questions, please PM either myself (ingame or on forum, I don't check topics often), one of the Legend Speakers, or an LHO. For all questions related to how to play the game, you should always seek an LHO first, but if they aren't able to help you feel free to ask myself or another Legend Speaker. LHO's are located in all the tutorial areas, there should always be one on duty, and there is a button you can press in the interface to PM whoever is active no matter where you are. This is the big orange button just above your progress indicator in the right side of the main interface (bellow your temporary stats like AP, VP and VE). You can identify an LHO because they will have an asterix at either end of their name, for example *EXAMPLE*.
10. I actually like this idea. It would be very useful for many quests that require you to go in specific directions, as well as making it another point of reference when helping new players find important areas in the realm. As such, it would be a valuable asset to both new and old players in the realm. I am not certain about it's location on top of the Erolin device however, I think a better location would be the "Creature" slot below the live help icon which represents us (the one we click for our daily progress) I assume the indicators for North, South, East, and West would rotate to correspond to the scenes orientation? If so, it would mean it would need to be callibrated for every scene. It would amuse me if we discovered that the Gazebo of Equilibrium was actually MD's magnetic pole... It would certainly simplify the creation process for the compass', as they could applied via code and co-ordinates (except in the MDA and TBL). It also wouldn't make the compass useless as a navigation tool, just a little harder to learn. Last of all, I don't think there would be any point in having it as a shop feature. If it is a shop feature, then it would make it useless for directing new players, as they will not be ready to spend money on the game nor will they have learnt/earnt free credits. It would also make it more prohibitive for use in quests, as it would limit the players who could participate to those who had purchased the compass. I think that the best option to limit server load with adding such a feature direct to every players interface would be to either have it as part of the universal interface (like the LHO Button or the background), or if it needs to be part of the individual interface (like the Erolin device and Left side bar) then it could be applied automatically to all new accounts, and put in the Extra Features section of the shop as a free item. Or even just put in the Extra Features section as a free item, and LHO's can tell the player to pick it up. At any rate, good idea, and I hope that it gets implimented. Especially when you consider that you can have magnetic anomalies without detracting from the functionality of such an item (Imagine a spell that turned someone into a walking magnet for 10 minutes, that would prevent them navigating via compass as the needles would just spin for them)

Glad to hear you are still going ahead with this Ailith, and I will be looking forward to seeing the events
12. First off: Generally, you will get more people to enter if they know the rewards. A quest that doesn't list the rewards is less likely to get attention as people will expect the rewards to be simple things like creatures, that they may not feel are worth the effort. Second: How do you plan to verify that the images contestants send in are in fact of themselves? While it would be difficult to get images of the same person looking both cool and then nerdy, it is by no means impossible. Third: If I was going to enter, I would send in one of my old modeling shots. However, as in the shot that I would use I would have my shirt off, I cannot upload it to the forum (Chewett informed me of this when I tried to, I had not expected this to be an issue as I am male, but the rules are the rules). What provisions do you have in mind for this sort of event? Are contestants able to send you the image privately for you to pass on to the judges, or must all images fit within the Forum rules for uploading? (NOTE: I am not entering this contest, while this situation is a literal one for me, I am useing it as a hypothetical)
13. I use them a fair amount, I find them very strong and useful. However, because they have such low initiative compared to a Drachorn, they are often killed before they can have an impact against overpowered players. Very useful in the regular rounds of combat, not so useful in the major leagues. When they can hit, they hit very hard though. Especially in Alliance fights where every round counts for so much. Offtopic(ish): One of the things a few of us have discussed amongst ourselves is making premium artwork for the LoreArcher, as Loreroot is the only land without an associated premium creature. I know that what gets made a premium creature or not is entirely up to you Mur, but regardless of whether you ever plan to or not, when I get some new watercolors I will be finishing off the images. Since the Current LoreArchers are great for normal combat, it would be cool to see the premiums made to be able to stand up to the big leagues (more health, defence, init, higher max% of damage, or ability to target multi at higher levels would all make it a significantly more powerful creature)
14.
It's nothing bad, but probably fixed in 5mins: When using a shopreset, Unbind all Inactive, Distribute vitality to creatures, WP logs and WP reasons don't disappear..quite an annoyance if you bought them all already. ID 73, 74, 80 and 81 it is.
I used my reset a few days ago, the "Unbind all Inactive" and "Distribute vitality to creatures" items didn't re-appear, but the two WP related ones did.
15.
if someone can confirm the fix?
Confirmed across 4 levels.

Yeah, I have to agree with Chewett. While the current system relies on Mur actually doing the work himself, I trust him to do so fairly. Especially when the last Land Leader votes had a section to name a second preference anyway. I do think that this data is usefull to anyone other than Mur trying to use public opinion to reach a decision, but it only really has an impact when there are more than 2 choices (the more choices, the higher the impact).
18. I actually filled out a bug report for this to Chewett last year, which he sent off to Muratus. It's actually easier to do on NON-alliance members than alliance members. Hopefully it gets fixed soon, but it has been tested fairly thoroughly and apparently isn't very abusable (the conditions are hard to meet, in most cases)
19. This begs the question of whether you will close this topic or leave it open? I suggest closing it rather than leaving it for others to post WP abuses in, as otherwise you will get people talking about the original list you posted again. And people are rather inclined to create their own topics anyway, even if one already exists
20. Dust In the beginning, there was dust. It spun, and hung like stars upon the air. Like a twinkling nothing, the sparkle in a fathers eye. It was a very long beginning. From the dust, arose an idea. With a spark of life, it grew and branched out. Like a creeping vine, it set down roots. It was a very good idea. From the idea, came the world. Full of love, of life and death. Full of waves, and windy cities. Full of time, of day, and night. Of blazing creatures, and furious flight, pealing thunder, and roaring might. A wild world, a vast world, a full world. A home. It was the very best home. From outside this world, back in the dust it grew from, arose a person. Are you a good person? Do you even need to be?
21. Just so that we don't run out of time, any idea how much longer you will keep this quest open?
22. I will be sad to see you go In my opinion, you were a fun person to be with, who was inquisitive and creative, and always tried their best to be at least reasonable, if not friendly. While you had issues with following instructions, that was more out of excitement and good intent than desire to annoy or cause harm.
23.
@Kyphis: 1. You don't even know what eden's avatar looks like and here you are busy flaming my thread. Genius. 2. I removed the avatar from sale right after amoran told me about it. So you might as well stop whining without getting your facts right. 3. You are no one to tell Firsanthalas what to do and what not to do. You aren't even from loreroot. If he decides to punish me for selling a gold avatar which I LEGALLY bought from the shop spending MY CREDITS, so be it. I am ready to accept the punishment without a word. 4. QUIT SPAMMING MY THREAD!!! @junior and Kafuuka: I didnt know it was Eden's avatar till shadowseeker told me, and I didn't know anything about him till Amoran explained the situation to me. I removed it As soon as i understood its importance. I can assure you I did not sell the avatar and it is in safe hands atm. And whoever's doing it, YOU CAN STOP NEGATIVE REPPING PEOPLE WITHOUT A REASON. I see no point in Neg reppin sasha lilias. She was merely bidding.
I actually know exactly what Edens avatar looks like. The image you had up is not the same one that I had recorded as his, hence why I had specifically said each time "if". I have also been asking Lorerootians if the avatar that you had displayed was his, and had not been able to receive any confirmation. Now that it has been clarified, I'm going to be adjusting that previous statement, since it is no longer an issue. And I never told Firsanthalas what to do, at any point.
