Even when you make up a word independently of any outer influences, there's still a good chance that another language uses that word, or something similar, so yeah, making a decent yet original new words is an accomplishment.

Some of you may remember a Poem contest Emerald organized at the Whisper Alley. We played with the thought make it again, and turn it to become annual contest, a sort of tradition, and I decided to add one more discipline, drawing for start, later on perhaps even more, with purpose to encourage creativity and art. The contest will probably start somewhere in the beginning of November, due to the Halloween festival that is coming up (don't want to mess with it). Rewards will be at least 1 WP for best work in Poem section and 1 WP for best work in Drawing section, perhaps even more rewards if some sponsors come along the way. It will probably be held at Whisper Alley in Marind Bell, and make it a traditional place of this gathering. The reason why I am posting this now is for you people to get your works prepared so I can announce the hour of the contest meeting with more flexibility. This is the theme of the contest: Drawing: Make a drawing (with a pencil) about your interpretation of enlightenment. Make large "MD" initials in the corner of your drawing to show that it is really your drawing. Poem: Make a poem about your interpretation of a seeker (as a general term). Additional infos will be posted here afterwards, this is all you need to know for now.

I just have one question. Regarding submitting our research files, if they get approved and such, is there any reward for submitting research, or it is just "showing off you know stuff"? For example, more research points for good submissions? (meaning what's keeping me from understanding the clues and keeping the conclusions for myself rather than submitting a research file?)

6 pointed star can be seen as a symbol of balance and harmony, but who knows what it meant when it was made. Its origin is unknown. (I have no idea how did Burns pull out that the David's star originated in Hinduism) Symbols get "abused", and the original meaning usually fades away, there are only assumptions. Some symbols get violated so much that even when their previous meaning is known, it isn't used anymore (like the Swastika, as far as I remember Swastika symbols were removed from some Buddhist temples), sadly.

I was thinking of a nice way how to integrate spells further. How about being able to merge an enchanted stone with one of your usable items? In that case, your usable item can cast the 3 casts of the spell of the enchanted stone, instead of giving it to your profile. Also, that the items have some kind of trigger on how much was one type of enchanted stone used on that item, so that eventually, the item becomes able to cast it without enchanted stone, on low basis (1 or 2 casts per spell recharge). This post has been approved by the principle of transposition.

You also mentioned that Chaos Woods were in the post, and Chaos Woods are specifically Ancient Lore term. Mur made posts of Adi's stories (ancient lore) on MD forum, as far as I recall.

Please make correct warnings when giving out the task, such as "what is the commonly known name of the lake" or "how is the lake named in the myths of old" and not "what is the name of the lake".

Possible new features mentioned in the last announcement, Eon's skill damage and such, allows people to teleport idlers somewhere and crush their stats. Why wouldn't sanctuaries also make people immune to teleport spells?
