Huh, I checked and didn't see one.. but if there is, I'll just edit your last post to have the same information and delete the split topic. Can I have a link? Do you mean the one with all the people applying to join? I considered that another topic because it's specifically for applications and doesn't have the information in the format that the others used. But if you don't want two topics about the guild, that's fine.
  2. Glaistig replied to Skyite's topic in Alliances
"Of course, my suggestions wouldn't work with guild-type alliances which have a variety of players," in my earlier post. I meant that to mean that my suggestions were only for military alliances. There are hardly any mp4s, let alone mp3s (is Bad Sun Bath still in Necro-alliance?) in military alliances; it would be a bit illogical for that as it is even now. Personally, I think players should be prepared to sacrifice some advancement in they're going to get involved with alliances no matter what the type, but what would you think of my suggestion if it only applied to military alliances? About the post after that, the one about the Artisans alliance, most alliances have made a separate topic, so it's easier to find. I split your post into another topic; I hope you don't mind.
  3. Glaistig replied to Skyite's topic in Alliances
Pi is right when he says that the grasan rit can be that strong even without alliance bonuses, which are pretty miniscule when it comes to stats. However, I can understand the frustration of not being able to attack back as often as you would if the alliance member were a normal player. Personally I don't agree with this advantage of alliance members at all, even though I am one. There are still the same incentives for attacking normal players: exp, won fights, skill increase, VP. Normal players who want to challenge themselves against the "most advanced" players can only try once an hour, even if those said "advanced" players can attack the normal players every 8 minutes, and why wouldn't they? Does it make sense? I understand the purpose of the 1-hour attack time for alliance members (not loyalty, you get/lose only small amounts by fighting alliance members; instead because the honor system doesn't apply to alliance members, although the honor system doesn't work anyway.. well, in any case, to supplement "lack of restriction for attacking others"), but not for the attack time to apply to normal players. It would be better if: 1) normal players don't have to wait 1 hour; it's unnecessary for them to have to suffer when the purpose is accomplished without their suffering or 2) alliance players can only attack normal players once an hour, to make things slightly more fair. Also, to supplement lack of restriction for attacking others. or 3) alliance members can only attack normal players once an hour and normal players can attack alliance members every 8 (I think that's the normal time?) minutes. After all, these alliance members are supposed to be the strongest, so they shouldn't need to be farming wins from weaker players so often; it would be a sort of trade-off for alliance play which would help the other mp5s gain ground on those who have been playing the game a long time. I thought alliances would help even out the playing field in mp5, by offering the best players another aspect of the game to take the place of attacking weaker players day after day. It's pretty much done the opposite by giving an unfair, pointless advantage to the older/advanced players. I don't know how many feel the same way, except Padraig00 and Teclis, who started the topic about unfair advantages of alliance members. However, I noticed that nearly all the people who rebuffed that topic starter were in an alliance.. n_n; Their main points were "life is unfair," "it's more fun this way" and that the advantage wasn't too great in their opinion, if I am reading the posts correctly. You can read for yourself by clicking here. Aqune said normal players might be intimidated by these alliance players, who are supposed to be the most achieving in the game behind rpcs, and thus refrain from expressing their opinion. Maybe not, I wouldn't know, but if there are normal players who feel the set-up is fair, I would love to hear why so I can consider their points and adjust my own thoughts if need be. What have alliance players done to deserve an advantage over players who are supposedly weaker than them already? Moreover, what would be the point of such an advantage? I'm not sure. I know that the alliance members and Manu aren't treating it like a serious issue. I don't know about normal players, and all I want is confirmation or disagreement, some expression about this topic, from them. I actually benefit from the way things are right now, so it's not like I mind personally if no one cares; I only wonder if anyone does care. Of course, my suggestions wouldn't work with guild-type alliances which have a variety of players. The current system is good enough for them, I think.
  4. Glaistig replied to phrog's topic in Alliances
Yes; that's another bug that frequently arises but no action has been taken. If it's not going to be fixed soon, I agree that the old skin should be set to default. From what I've heard, players only experience the problem with the newer skin in IE, but I'm not sure.
  5. Ooh, nice, dst. But like Pi, I wonder if it's alright to publish spoilers about sacrificing. Manu expressed his desire for the internal workings of sacrificing to stay unknown. I don't know to what extent he meant, and what you included isn't very specific (although I didn't know any of that until recently and I wouldn't without help, as it isn't mentioned anywhere ingame), so I'm only asking for confirmation that you've considered and evaluated it, I guess.
  6. Muhh, yes ma'am. D: *has been ignoring message* I think, maybe, I just put that there to have an excuse to visit the forums and decrease the amount of days I have left. Don't tell Lu.
  7. Mm, I get that often but just ignore it because it usually goes away with a refresh. It's good of you to report it, though; maybe it will be fixed. Implosion does sound bad but it's actually a function in php. Not sure exactly what, sounds like merging into a list or something. @_@
  8. That would make sense. Or, say, there could be some sort of way for players to set up rituals without having to find someone to attack. It's been brought up very often by frustrated players, but there has been no mention of whether or not it's in consideration that I've heard. If it isn't in consideration, it would be helpful to know, because I'm always telling people that likely it is, as the current system is illogical-seeming; that also prompts the question why, if it isn't in consideration. If it is in consideration, when will it happen? It may not seem important, but the current system gives players the impression of a clumsy, annoying interface (which it is, in my opinion), maybe even driving a number to quit. Okay, the last part is just my own supposition, but yeah. Why not now rather than later, if it will relieve suffering? Sorry, those questions were all directed at someone who might have an answer. Your suggestion is good in my opinion, but having a way to set up rituals independently would resolve not only this issue but others.
  9. lol, you can thank Braiton (I think, I get him/her mixed with others in my head often) for that; he/she was said that I didn't know anything when I said my opinion of Khalazdad like a fact. Yeah, now that you mentioned it, such a feature could be abused easily. Being an adept of someone means you trust that person not to abuse something like mass-messaging, and if it doesn't work out, you could always "unsubscribe." But I'm getting ahead of myself. The guild-thing is a good idea too, because messages in the alliance chat aren't permanent.
  10. lol, I suppose you might think there are limited spaces on the LHO teams, but I doubt we're filling up many of them. We actually have a couple, some which are also rpc: Jonn Chewett Adrian BigC (largely useless) Rex Umbrae Killer juni0r Raven (newer) kempinuikas (newer) Mara phrog There are probably some I'm not remembering, but it's not like we're all online (not idle) for long periods of time or very often. It's a kind of small team in my opinon to cover the whole of MD, especially when there is a surge of newbies registering. There are some people who are applying to be LHO, as well, so you might as well join them. Message Jonn so he can put you on his list of consideration.

Or Shoeps Shoeps is supposed to replace Manu as much as possible. I know as a LHO it's easy to miss a message if you're getting a lot; sometimes you get several at once, and because the notification is slow you get a single notification for all of them, click on the notification, get directed to the latest message and forget to check if any arrived before that one.
  12. I don't know why, I just feel like I need to mention Killerplox here. /:
  13. Glaistig replied to thrall's topic in New Ideas
Mm.. if you know the rpcs, all you need to do is check their profile from time to time. www.magicduel.com/players/[insert rpc name here] But I agree, it can be a little frustrating to know you missed out on a quest just because you weren't alert. Maybe a list of only the main quests, not the miniquests which are part of the main ones, so there is still a little hunt. Am I making sense?
  14. Glaistig replied to Rob's topic in Storyline
Almost all routes in chapter two are still under construction, and have been for quite a while. Only one has access to chapter three. I don't know if it's been put on hold or not, but likely it will be some time before they're finished.. although I really have no idea and you can't hold me to my word for this. It's supposed to be a high priority. The story is engaging but so far it doesn't really offer anything new (except access to different lands which are still under construction; quests aren't completed yet) that you don't already have. I think Manu called the route that has access to chapter three "not much," and that's really it; there are only a few more turns with some nice stat bonuses before you reach another "Under Construction" sign if you take that route. The unlocked areas are intriguing for a little while, but there is nothing much useful there yet (except an altar in Necro). Part of the reason that specific route got access to chapter three before the other ones may be because it was one of two "dead ends" which caused some controversy, if you search the forums.
  15. Huh. Brilliant, you are. *quietly bashes head on table*
  16. x_x; I'm refraining from using them for the moment, because I don't want to enter someone else's mailing (not email) address and give them spam. *doesn't even consider putting own address* Not to mention phone numbers..
  17. Maybe I should clarify; I noticed this a long time ago at one point. Right after I posted the topic, Wodin came over and told me that it's not a bug and the button disappears when there aren't any LHOs online. EDIT: ah, I posted this before I saw your edited post. Verbatim! I feel a sudden bond.

    Hmm.. that's odd; I've never heard of a bug like that. The first time around in tutorial, you aren't supposed to be able to pick 24 hours, only up to 15 minute meditation if I recall. But after that you should be able to do 24 hours. Hopefully it won't continue in mp5, but if it does, post again (with a screenshot) and maybe Manu can interfere.. or maybe he can't/won't. >_>;
  20. Glaistig replied to Rob's topic in Storyline
You mean you don't have the option to wait longer? And this lasted until the story ended, or if the story hasn't ended, to now? If the story hasn't ended, a screenshot?
  21. Combat logs are erased in two instances: one related to a secret feature triggered by the person who fought you, another when the server time resets (00:00; you can view server time by clicking the daily progress button). What happened was that inbetween the time the attack occurred and you clicked the notification, the log was erased.
  22. You don't necessarily have to heal the creature to 100% for the rit to work; you must have more than 301 VE in the creature (or total in creatures if you're using more than one). Aqune was talking about it a few days ago and mentioned that it was implemented in order to prevent loss-farming, which sounds about right. If that's the case, it didn't really work. >_> It's not a bug though.
  23. For me, the enemy's VE plays a role in what kind of ritual I make, though. Higher VE, lifestealer, less VE, one-creature rit, ect.
  24. Hmm.. the first two parts you listed - The colors' preferred methods for achieving their goals. - The colors' strengths and weaknesses. are assigning characteristics to people, not just values or beliefs. In that case, I might have some complaint, as valuing a certain belief doesn't mean you do things accordingly. I'm interested in how you'd handle it, so those are the ones I'd like to see first. Probably the latter more than the former. Oh, but since you have the section about the two- or three- color combinations partially done and the last unfinished part (For the two- or three- color combinations, why do I think they exclusively share the values I say they do and why the other colors don't?) you listed is related to them, I kind of feel like you should do that. Um, just because I'm a organization freak, so it doesn't matter. x)
  25. This comes up a lot during head contests. I'll move it to the Questions and Answers forum since it isn't a real bug. Congratulations; you have made the first topic in the Q&A forum which isn't pinned!
