1. I don't really have a problem with being able to roleplay giving heads to someone else. The one question I have is: does this transfer work long distance? If so, then I would have to vote no. Later Edit: I tested it, and it doesn't work long distance. So... no problem here! Awi
2. Also as another note: it's possible for someone to print out an image that is not theirs and appear with it. I hope your picture ensures that is not happening. Awi
3. I think in some cases the point is still being missed. Imagine for a second a parable: a story designed to represent something deeper. An allegory works as well. Now this is what story mode is. A story that on the surface is understood as a lovely fairy tale, but goes significantly deeper than that. I will give an example of a parable we all know: The tortoise and the hare. The story where the hare initially starts out ahead but is eventually defeated by the tortoise due to hubris. What is the important part of the story? By far the moral, and the lesson we can take from this. So what people have done with MD's lore, MD's parable, is extending on the story. They wrote about the tortoise's mother, about his father, his childhood, where he grew up, how the tortoise and the hare used to be friends, about this and that and even more things! People have missed the point entirely: it is not the setting, the characters, or the history and context behind the story that matters. It is the deeper meaning, the story within the story, the lesson to be learned, that should be paid close attention. Do NOT be distracted by the who's, the what's, the where's, or the when's. Learn the lesson, look for the meaning, and do not be distracted by hare's in top hats with flashing yellow signs. Awi
4. I am sort of okay with the idea of sacrificing creatures to later use as food, but... I think that the food definitely shouldn't be tradeable. Maybe not quite food, but more split it up into later usable "fenths"? I don't know, but something is weird about eating a Knator steak... Awi
5. What I am asking for is an image of you the person holding the drawing up. Does that make sense? Awi
6. It seems incredible to me that someone can go from those drawings to these drawings, no? Seems odd. Perhaps I would be fully satisfied if you posed with your drawings. Just to be sure, you know. What do you think, Fenrir? Awi
7. Sir Kamil, are you sure those images are yours? There seems to be a very strange mix of styles in your pictures. Could you upload a VERY high resolution? If you have the original that shouldn't be a problem at all. Awi PS: as a later edit, why are you uploading your images to imageShack? You can upload them directly to the forum server.
8. There are many fighters holding swords (for instance, mine). Can you be more specific? Awi

10. Why that won't work: There is a massive possibility for abuse. Imagine an mp6 with a lot of worshipers, and you have a lot of heat. That mp6 could gain so much loyalty without too much effort. It'd be even worse if mp6's could pray to each other, because then they could just bounce the heat back and forth, with an extra worshiper helping to counter-act the natural decay of heat. In short, mp6s would be able to gain far too much loyalty far too quickly. Awi
11. I would probably stand up and walk out on you....

12. A serious congratulations to Rendril Revant. You deserve everything Mur said. Awi
13. Aaron, last year, after being in game for 9 months, nobody remembered my birthday either, and there wasn't the birthday of the game they play to distract them. It's pointless, and a little childish, to complain about others not remembering your birthday. How often have YOU started birthday topics? I've never seen you create one, and yet you expect others to? Please be a little more thoughtful. Awi
14.
A wise man once said you do not own something unless you can give it away.
I am going to support Yoshi and say that you have taken this quote out of context. That wise man once said you do not own something unless you CAN give it away. Can is the ability, and I think Shadowseeker has the ability to give away his iron bar (unless there is glue involved?). If the quotation was, "A wise man once said you do not own something unless you give it away," your argument would be watertight (assuming that quotation was also irrefutable, which it isn't.) It's hard for me to imagine that Shadowseeker would give the bar to you, as a holey argument is worse than no argument at all. You yourself admit to your logic being flawed. Awi
15. And I'm not an LHO anymore, so that leaves just Grido. Awi
16. Day 95 Year 5 Today I visited Abra (I visited last week but he was deep in his thoughts) Abra seems to be plagued by the question of origin. Where is he from? Where does he belong? Is he an abnormality? All these questions of purpose and self very much plague him. The biggest conflict is that he feels alone. No other Aramor or human is like him, if nothing else because he feels and expresses things differently. There was not much I could do, but I offered him that should he never need someone to talk to, even if different, I visited every week. A possible question to pose to the community is: can anything be done or Abra, or should he work through his problems? Towards the middle of the log Abra tells his origin story, of his feelings of sentience. It's an interesting if anybody feels so inclined. Awi log:
Awiiya: Hello Abra. | Abra: Huh? | Abra: Oh hello. | Abra: It's tuesday again? Awiiya: *nods* Yes, it is Tuesday. Awiiya: How are you? | Abra: I'm pondering, still. | Abra: I can't seem to find an answer. | Abra: Remember when we last met? Awiiya: What is it that seems to be the source of the conflict? | Abra: I'm still thinking about the same thing. Awiiya: *nods* Yes, you were very quiet. Awiiya: Staring off into space. Awiiya: What was it that you were thinking of? You never told me. | Abra: Well, I'm not as absent-minded anymore, but it's still teh same thing. | Abra: See, what or who is my creator? Awiiya: That is a tough question. | Abra: And, even more, who created that what I was? | Abra: None of my friends know. : Awiiya remains silent | Abra: There's nothing like" Made by " on us. Awiiya: Abra all I can say about that is this: you cannot control where you have come from. Awiiya: It might even be impossible to know for what purpose you were created and who even created you. | Abra: Yes..but can I not question what I came from? | Abra: Me existing would mean I am either an abnormality, or just the next step for all of us here.. Awiiya: But I do know that what matters more than looking back is looking forward. What will you be? You certainly have the opportunity to be something, no matter what purpose you were created for. Awiiya: Or perhaps you are just you, and your purpose is what you make it. | Abra: I am content to wander this place for now. Awiiya: But I do not think you are an abnormality. You seem normal enough to me | Abra: And yes, that may be true, but I have time...an odd thing, to have time. | Abra: And so I try to use that time. Awiiya: *nods* Time might be a gift, it might be a curse. Awiiya: How do you use that time? | Abra: None of these humans walking around here have piqued my interest so far, my friends are happy in being itself, so I am all alone. | Abra: So my time is usually spent in thinking... | Abra: It's odd, thinking, it feels as if I have to learn it from scratch. Awiiya: Well, athough I probably bore you like the others, if you want to share your thoughts I am here. | Abra: Did you know how my first time here was? | Abra: I assume not, so do you wish to hear it? Awiiya: Yes, I wish to hear it. | Abra: See, i think I told you about how my friends here.. *pats another aramor gently* experience things. Awiiya: Yes, you did. | Abra: We..feel it, but in a..different way than how I do now. | Abra: So when I first started to feel..this other way, I was confused. | Abra: SO many senses. : Awiiya nods Awiiya: Abra? (a long pause) | Abra: Eh, my recollection. | Abra: I'm sorry. | Abra: was confused back then. | Abra: Odd sensation of feeling my limbs Awiiya: That's okay. You were distracted by those thoughts again? | Abra: Yes..it was very unique. | Abra: I stumbled and almost fell. | Abra: I was walking around. | Abra: Exploring the way..my limbs..MOVED. | Abra: It's hard to describe. Awiiya: I think at some point I had a similar experience, but I do not remember it. | Abra: Well, it was not slowly..it was as if sudden a switch had been turned on. Awiiya: *nods* And then? Abra: Well, I was so surprised, that I almost fell. | Abra: I..can't describe it. Awiiya: Did you walk around confused, or did you realize what had happened... or...? | Abra: I didn't it realise it until later.. | Abra: much later. Awiiya: I see. Awiiya: What else happened that day? | Abra: Not much..soon enough I returned to my old state. Awiiya: Your old state...? | Abra: No time.. | Abra: t's an interesting state. | Abra: My old state before I gained, conciousness, as you call it. Awiiya: Ah, I got it. But now you have time... so you switch back and forth? | Abra: Yes. | Abra: By now it's more frequent though. Awiiya: When you talk to me, you have time, correct? | Abra: Yes.. Awiiya: Could you switch to not having time, right now? | Abra: I'm not sure, but I think so. | Abra: It may as well that you happen to come during good times to meet me, or that i placed them this way somehow. : Awiiya nods Awiiya: Oh I almost forgot. Do you want to adventure today, or not? | Abra: Oh no, thanks. Awiiya: Okay. | Abra: Before I get to a conclusion of my question, or at least a somewhat sufficient one, I don#t think I want to. Awiiya: What do you think would happen if you suddenly switched back to that other state? Abra: That is..a good thought, but it still doesn't explain many things. | Abra: For example, who created us..here? Awiiya: I think each of us lends a hand to others and pulls them into this world. Awiiya: Have you heard of Mur? | Abra: Who is that? Awiiya: He is a man, who first came here. Awiiya: He pulled himself into this world, and started to pull other people in too. Awiiya: It's possible that you were pulled into being by us. Awiiya: Just like how I pulled you to that confusing place with many people. | Abra: That..may be. | Abra: Perhaps it was that, perhaps there was no reason. | Abra: Perhaps coincidence. It's hard to tell. Awiiya: There might still be a reason. Awiiya: If you remember, I summned you that time because I needed something, and you came. Awiiya: Maybe we needed something, and you are here to help us, just as you drag me mentally to this island every week to help you. | Abra: I'm not sure I can drag you here. | Abra: Though, you asked for my help. So shouldn't I be allowed to ask you for yours? Awiiya: *nods* Yes. You should be able to. Awiiya: Abra, I need to go. | Abra: Ah, very well then. Awiiya: I will be back next Tuesday. Perhaps being outside of time for a while will help you to order things. | Abra: I think I will remain here and ponder... Awiiya: *nods* Goodbye for now. | Abra: Good bye.
17. I hate to say it, but I really don't think anybody can gather 2 musical instruments and gem stones in 7 days. 15 silver is generally the cost of a RAW item, but instruments are far more valuable. People generally are attached to special or interesting items, and musical instruments fall under that category. If someone does manage to acquire the items, they will likely have sacrificed a lot more than a GG's worth. Good luck. Awi
18. I will quote from Mur, Malaikat "I assure you all lands have their roots well placed within the entire "map". I am so so sick of this lore crap, everyby seeking for "lore" just to feel safe that they "now" about that land or place. Lets think about it. What lore is sufficient? You want to know how it started? Fine .. then what was before that? and before that and before that? Do you want a lore to go to the stoneage of MD? Sorru, md started adhoc when the Angien opened the big box, no stone age. In the beginning it was a point to put lore, but i wanted in that lore only certain key elements, elements important to the entire concept. These elements worked perfect with the graphic clues, but some of you so obsessed with lore and stories ruined all by digging deep, finding Ady and making him tell more stories than he should. The ancient lore turned into a nice story that was extrapolated from the original. Of course it was nice, made sense, etc etc. Then you started to use made up stories to support your weaknesses in the present. The tribunal will have ancient lore when i will grow hair in my palm, or when the pigs will fly ... well in MD that might happen sooner or later actualy. Not being able to rely on the story clues because of Adi's big mouth and my incapability to put chapter 3 up and get chapter 4 done, made me decide that i should leave only the visual clues. Both story and visual tell same story, just that the visual can not talk more than they should. You go in a town you never were before... do you realy feel the urge of a historian to digg its past and find out everything you can about it? I don't think so. Ok some might like that particular aspect of a place, but most dont. You seeking history in MD is because its made so to wake up your curiosity, but that curiosity should not be focused to ancient inexistent lore" -source: http://magicduel.invisionzone.com/topic/5403-alpha-10-opinions/page__st__20 I agree wholeheartedly with him. This is why I discourage "investigations" into the Lore of MD. Awi
19. I think a better question than "who built the wall" (which gets quickly into the trap of Lore) is "why is it built?" or "what does it represent?" Awi

Wps Gone Bad

We also have the opportunity to punish and prosecute anybody we feel is doing something illegal or immoral, and punish them in any way we can. That was in an announcement a while back. Awi
21. This is a very cool idea, but the obvious question is, "Who?" When I wrote the book of Ancients, I felt like I was slogging through the mud at times wrestling with the question of "Who deserves to go into the Book?" In the end I made arbitrary judgments, but the more expansive the history you plan to include the more difficult that decision will be. The other branch of the "who" question is who is going to draw this up? You have proposed the idea, but I read your post three times and did not see any reference to who was going to implement it, nor did I see any call for others to assist you. Are you asking for help, or just throwing an idea out for someone to grab? Awi
22. The thing about a stereotype is that rather than being a rule, one which all items in the society or list follow, it is a trend, something that a majority (it could be 51%) follow. Awi
23. I do not agree at all with your "signature creatures." Drachorns, remains, Angiens, and Shades are all on vastly different planes of complexity. Have you ever heard remains speak? What about Drachorns? The fact remains that each land is different, and instead of striving for equality we should pay close attention to the nuances of each land. Have you ever heard of the idea of linguistic determinism (credit to Whorf)? The theory is that a person will express themself in a different way, depending on which language they are speaking. I believe the bilingual people in MD can attest to this: a person sometimes feels that they act different and have different personalities in their two different languages. I view the lands in a similar way. Each of them is a separate way of thinking, and the longer you spend in that land the more you begin to think in a particular way. I've had conversations with others (Jester, especially) about what makes a person a citizen of one land or another, and it is surprising how obvious it is which land a person belongs to. This stems from the fact that lands act as a lens through which people see the larger realm. The following are some oversimplifications of the trends (feel free to skip. The part related to the topic comes later): Necrovions tend to more outwardly melancholy, and in fact seem to take pride in the less starkly moral actions. Insanity is a common theme, whether feigned or actual. Seem to struggle with right and wrong, and in the best of cases give up the struggle in favor of a more blanketing acceptance of the lack of a universal moral code. Lorerootians on the other hand mention often the beauty of nature, and bowing to a spiritual ebb and flow. They also tend to be more simple in thought process, and are saved from a good deal of messy introspection and wallowing due to their strict adherence to the belief that nature is good and beautiful, and those that endanger it are bad. Those from Marind Bell are fighters, knights that fight for there internally held beliefs. There is no greater ideal than martyrdom, which often times benefits the entire society. Politeness and respect are also forefront in the society of Marind Bell, and it is no accident that they are the caretakers of the new, the ones to initiate others into the realm. Who better than those with a sense of duty? There is also an eddy of education and study, though often times it appears to be steadfast in the search of good and truth. The citizens of Golemus are somewhat divided. There is a large faction of those who love to tinker and explore. The pleasure of solutions and answers cannot be avoided, and in the search for the answers sometimes the more interrelated subtitles that are less cut and elegant are evaded. There is also a penchant for help and an altruistic tendency to educate all those that seek higher learning. Okay, now that I've gotten my critique of your "signature creatures" out of my system, I still would like to say that I highly favor the new timers and the reduction of AP in wild card members, those who have not chosen a land. I will say that it seems people care less and less about alliances, focusing more on the functional benefits of remaining a floater. I cannot stress enough that by putting an anchor into the land you will find the rewards are far greater than a faster attack timer. It is the next step in becoming a member of the realm. How many active and influential members are there that are not, or have not been, a member of an alliance? So I think the increased pressure to join a land is acceptable, and totally in line with the principles (not those) of the realm. Awi
24. Take a look at IAB's WP list on the Top Wishpoint list... 19 Big A. Is that an alt of IAB? Why yes, it is. That Wishpoint was given when the codes first came out. So WPs have already been abused without any sort of punishment. Still though, I do not think Bits are useful. Awi
25. I think this must be the 4th time I've posted about K documents. I have a K group and so does Akasha. There are no other created, to my knowledge. They are currently broken, and give an error when they are edited. Awi
